About health and medical tourism in the Mogilev region

Health and medical tourism is becoming increasingly popular among foreign citizens. In the health resorts of the Mogilev region in 2018, citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Israel, Germany, Italy, the United States and other countries received health-improving assistance.

In January-September of this year, 9,112 people from the near and far abroad took advantage of sanatorium-resort treatment in 9 health centers of the region, which is 1,120 people or 22.4 percent more than the corresponding period last year.

Proceeds from the sale of services to foreign citizens for the first 9 months of 2018 amounted to more than 3.9 million rubles, or with an increase of 20.5 percent by January-September 2017.

Currently, visitors from abroad are most in demand for such types of medical and health care as dentistry, diagnostic examinations, preventive treatment, and recovery from past illnesses.

Most of the vouchers sold to foreign nationals in the region, account for the DUP "Sanatorium them. V.Lenin ”, which received during this time 3,715 foreign citizens or 60.7 percent of their total check-in at the health resorts of the region.

           In order to develop new foreign markets and diversify exports, and thereby attracting foreigners, sanatoriums offer health tours, taking into account visa-free travel, and thematic runs taking into account calendar holidays (Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, March 8, etc.). Sanatorium specialists regularly take part in exhibitions and fairs held outside the Republic of Belarus.
