On the territory of the Gomel region, 9 sanatoriums, 6 children's rehabilitation and health centers, 2 recreation centers and 1 student sanatorium, are located and operate, in addition, 9 stationary health camps and 1 health camp on the basis of the Serebryany Klyuch sanatorium.

For the 9 months of 2019, 75846 permits were implemented by sanatorium and resort organizations of the Gomel region, 21486 permits from citizens of the near and far abroad, 29141 permits to the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-and-Resort Treatment of the population (hereinafter referred to as the Center).

Revenues in the amount of 53.08 million rubles were received from the sale of permits by sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations, from which from export - 14.80 million rubles. Including independently (without vouchers sold to the Center) health resorts of the region sold vouchers to individuals and legal entities in the amount of 30.51 million rubles, the Center sold vouchers in the amount of 22.56 million rubles.

Also, health resorts of the region implemented additional paid services that are not included in the cost of the tour, in the amount of 4.20 million rubles. Export of additional paid services amounted to 2.54 million rubles, of which medical - 2.28 million rubles.

A priority for the Gomel region is the provision of sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation of children living or studying in educational institutions in areas contaminated with radionuclides. Children's rehabilitation and health centers accepted 18797 of these children for sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation.

In addition to trips to sanatorium-resort organizations, annually for the summer for children affected by the Chernobyl disaster, trips to children's health camps are purchased at the expense of the republican budget. In 2019, 2700 children rested on such vouchers in suburban health camps in the amount of 1.38 million rubles.

In total, 7742 children rested in health camps in the summer, including 42 children who came to rest from other countries.

The average occupancy rate of the sanatorium and resort organizations of the region for 9 months of 2019 amounted to 85.5%.

All spa organizations have modern methods of treatment and diagnosis. The treatment and diagnostic facilities of sanatoriums are equipped with equipment for examining the cardiovascular system, respiratory organs, musculoskeletal system, digestive organs, and the central and peripheral nervous system. In children's rehabilitation and health centers, all conditions have been created for proper treatment, rest and the implementation of the educational process. Health camps are located in picturesque places in ecologically clean areas.
