    In 2020, 211.5 thousand people underwent sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement in sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations of the Minsk region (proceeds from the sale of services amounted to 142 485.5 thousand rubles), including: at the expense of legal entities and individuals 168.2 thousand people were rehabilitated (80.5 million rubles); at the expense of the republican budget and funds of the state non-budgetary fund for social protection of the population of the Republic of Belarus 43.2 thousand people (38.9 million rubles).
    It should be noted that during the reporting period, health resorts of the republic at the expense of the republican budget and funds of the state extra-budgetary fund for social protection of the population of the Republic of Belarus provided sanatorium treatment and health improvement to 11.8 thousand residents of the Minsk region, including: 5.0 thousand children. 9.1 million rubles of state funds were allocated.
    Special control in the region is the organization of sanatorium-resort treatment of disabled children aged 3 to 18 years. So, in 2020, 324 disabled children living in the Minsk region were provided with sanatorium and resort treatment.
    In 2020, the maximum possible coverage of sanatorium-resort treatment for children with medical indications, living in the territories of the region contaminated with radionuclides, is provided (1,100 children). Aimed at sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement of 533 children living and studying in the regions contaminated with radionuclides.
    In the Minsk region, the implementation of the right to an extraordinary free receipt of vouchers for sanatorium-resort treatment for disabled people and participants of the Great Patriotic War with medical indications is fully ensured, 9 veterans with disabilities and participants in the Great Patriotic War were sent.
    In order to ensure stable, break-even work, increase the demand for sanatorium and resort and health services and increase the volume of income from the services provided by the health resorts of the Minsk region, constant systematic work is being carried out to develop and improve the material and technical base, study new markets for tourist and recreational services and consumer demands , expanding the list of services provided, introducing innovative technologies of spa therapy. Export of services is an important direction in the work of sanatorium and health resort and health organizations of the Minsk region. Over the past year, 26.4 thousand citizens of the near and far abroad countries underwent sanatorium treatment and health improvement in the health resorts of the Minsk region. The export of sanatorium-resort and health-improving services in 2020 amounted to 27.1 million rubles.
    Despite the current epidemiological situation, the average occupancy rate of sanatorium-resort organizations in 2020 was 55.4 percent.
