In the Gomel region, one of the main tasks is to provide sanatorium-resort treatment and recovery for children living or studying in the territory of radioactive contamination. The Republican Center for Health and Resort Treatment of the Population annually purchases tickets for this category of children to health resorts and health organizations of the Republic of Belarus within the limits of the republican budget provided for overcoming the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster.

A priority direction for the Gomel region, including in the summer, is the organization of sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation of children in organized groups accompanied by teaching staff.

In the summer period of 2023, 11,875 children will be sent as part of organized groups to sanatorium-resort treatment (if there are indications for sanatorium-resort treatment) and recovery in sanatorium-resort organizations of the Republic of Belarus, of which 11,489 children will be in sanatoriums located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus , and 386 children will go to the sanatorium-resort treatment in the southern direction to DOC "Belaya Rus" Tuapsinsky District, Krasnodar Territory.

Also, 203 children of the Gomel region, who suffered from the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, will be sent to sanatorium-resort organizations at the expense of the budget of the Union state.

424 children between the ages of 3 and 6 living in the radioactively contaminated territory, accompanied by one of their parents, will be provided with sanatorium-resort treatment in sanatoriums during the summer.

Every year for the summer period for children of the Gomel region, who suffered from the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, in addition to tickets to sanatorium-resort organizations, tickets to children's health camps are purchased at the expense of the republican budget. For the summer of 2023, 1,850 vouchers were purchased, of which 1,114 were vouchers for country health camps and 736 vouchers for sports and wellness camps.

The sanatorium-resort and recreation organizations of the Republic of Belarus have everything necessary to ensure effective sanatorium-resort treatment, recovery and full-fledged rest for children. Thanks to the geographical location, a wide range of natural healing factors, the medical base of sanatorium-resort organizations, every child during the stay undergoes a full course of sanatorium-resort treatment or recovery, according to medical indications.

Programs of educational work of the summer health campaign are developed and implemented both in health camps and in sanatorium-resort organizations that accept children for health care. Plans are filled with various educational and educational activities: outdoor activities, intellectual and sports competitions, excursions that promote active recreation for children.

Organized summer vacation promises children interesting acquaintances and meetings, bright emotions and impressions, and the opportunity to communicate with friends. Life is full of events and meetings in any sanatorium-resort and wellness organization.
