On the outcome of the work on the rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment of the population in the Brest region for 2018

Great importance is attached to the field of sanatorium-resort treatment and improvement of the population. At the expense of public sources, about 121 thousand people in our region recovered their health. 26.4 million rubles were spent for these purposes.

The region provides one hundred percent coverage of all those who wish to receive sanatorium-resort treatment for disabled people and participants of the Great Patriotic War, as well as other categories that have an extraordinary free right to receive vouchers. Thus, 53 veterans of the Great Patriotic War, 1533 disabled people of I and II groups residing in the region underwent sanatorium-resort treatment at health resorts of the republic.

The priority remains preferential rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment of children. In 2018, 109.8 thousand children were able to improve their health in sanatoria and health camps of all types. About 65 percent of children living and studying in contaminated areas are covered by rehabilitation. 649 disabled children received sanatorium treatment. Only in the summer of 2018 over 63 thousand children rested in the health camps of the region. The surcharge to the full cost of vouchers and cheapening of the cost of vouchers to health camps for children of socially unprotected categories (orphans, disabled people from large and low-income families), as well as children of public sector employees spent over 406 thousand rubles of local budget funds.

n recent years, special attention has also been paid to the preservation and development of the existing base of country health camps. Currently, there are 22 stationary recreation camps in the region, of which 6 are departmental and 16 are in communal ownership. In the current year, 1600.0 thousand rubles were spent from various sources on strengthening the material and technical base of country camps (in 2017 - 1,430.2 thousand rubles).

Currently, the sanatorium and recreation system of the Brest region is represented by 47 organizations that have undergone state certification with a total hospital bed capacity of 8385 beds.

It should be noted that the attractiveness of health resorts for tourists depends on the quality of services provided and the level of comfort. Therefore, sanatorium and health resorts and recreational organizations attach great importance to the development of their material and technical base. Every year they invest heavily in capital and current repairs, landscaping, and the expansion of the list of services provided. In 2018, 11.8 million rubles were spent for these purposes.

So, in 2018 in the municipal unitary enterprise “Children's rehabilitation and recreation center“ Svitanak ”of the main department for education of the regional executive committee, the gymnasium was constructed and the existing boiler room was reconstructed. For these purposes 5.8 million rubles were spent from the republican budget.

In 2018, about 102 thousand people recovered their health in the health resorts of the Brest region. The volume of sanatorium and recreation services provided amounted to 65.8 million rubles, which amounted to about 111.5% of the corresponding period of 2017. Proceeds from the sale of additional paid services increased by 19% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 7.5 million rubles.

Constantly in the region work is underway to expand markets and increase the volume of exports of sanatorium and health services. In 2018 alone, the health resorts of the region took part in the 14 largest tourist exhibitions in the Republic of Belarus and abroad.

As a result, at the end of 2018, the volume of exports of services increased by 10.3% compared to the same period in 2017 and amounted to 17.1 million rubles. The number of foreign tourists admitted to Brest health resorts increased by 11%.

Also, in order to attract foreign tourists for visa-free entry, four health resorts (Solnechny, Ruzhansky, Bug, and Nadzeya) were independently certified as tour operators and can work directly with foreign citizens. In the future, these certificates will be obtained by the other two sanatoriums (Brestagrozdravnitsa and Belaya Vezha) located in the visa-free zone.

The occupancy of the sanatorium organizations amounted to 89.6%, which is 7% more than in 2017.

According to the results of 2018, the representative office of the Brest Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the population met all reported health and sanatorium-resort treatment indicators for the population of the region at the expense of state funding sources. And in conclusion, I would like to note that sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation of the population is one of the important aspects of the social policy of the state, which allows this system to develop dynamically and strengthen the health of the population not only of the Republic of Belarus, but also of the near and far abroad countries.
