The network of sanatorium and resort organizations in the Vitebsk region is represented by 92 organizations with 4,520 places, including 12 sanatorium and resort organizations with 3,203 places, 3 student sanatoriums and 80 health organizations.

In 2019, the sanatorium and resort organizations of the region implemented 97414 permits, including 17963 permits for the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium and Resorts, 31190 for legal entities, 48261 for individuals. Revenues from the sale of services amounted to 67,468.9 million rubles.

In 2019, due to an increase in the quality and expansion of the list of services rendered, the optimal level of prices, the resort organizations of the region implemented paid services that are not included in the cost of the ticket 7521.0 million rubles, including medical 4250.1 million rubles.

The average occupancy rate of resorts in 2019 was 78.9%.
32624 foreign tourists had a rest in sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations, which is 624 more citizens than in 2018. Exports of services increased by 116.0%. The proceeds from the sale of services to foreign citizens amounted to 26,129.8 million rubles.

Among foreign citizens, the majority of vouchers (80%) are acquired by Russians. Recently, citizens of the Baltic countries, Poland, and Germany have shown interest in holidays in Belarus.

Sanatorium-resort organizations of the region in order to attract more new customers and study the best practices of other organizations take an active part in exhibitions held in the Republic of Belarus and abroad. An active marketing policy is constantly pursued with the aim of popularizing and promoting sanatorium and resort services among a new target audience (both citizens of Belarus and foreign citizens). Advertising information is distributed through the facilities of sanatorium sites, groups are created in social networks (VKontakte, Facebook, Odnoklassniki) with regularly updated information about ongoing events and promotions.

In order to strengthen the material and technical base of health resorts and expand the range of services provided, new medical equipment is being updated and acquired, new types of medical services are being introduced. Particular attention is paid to spa services, which are in high demand among vacationers. In 2019, 3604.9 thousand rubles were allocated to strengthen the MTB of sanatorium-resort organizations.

In order to attract customers during the off-season period flexible discount systems are being introduced for pensioners, military personnel and their families, union members. Regular customers receive discounts on discount cards. In order to familiarize tourists with the sights of Belarus, excursion programs have been developed and are being implemented.
