Sanatorium treatment and health improvement of the population of the Brest region following the results of 9 months of 2021

Sanatorium treatment and health improvement is an important aspect of the social policy of our state.
In accordance with the current legislation, veterans and participants of the Great Patriotic War, persons with disabilities of groups 1 and 2, minor children, have the opportunity to free spa treatment if they have medical indications. The working population, labor veterans, persons with disabilities of group 3, full-time students can receive spa treatment with partial payment.
It should be noted that on behalf of the Head of State, the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection made a joint decision on an extraordinary sanatorium-resort treatment for labor veterans and disabled persons of groups I and II who have suffered pneumonia associated with COVID -19, in the sanatoriums of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection (Belaya Vezha, Yaselda, Vyazhuti, Berezina). A month after recovery, people with disabilities of groups I and II will be able to recover free of charge, and labor veterans will pay only 10-15 percent of the full cost of the voucher.
For working citizens, the commissions for health improvement and sanatorium-resort treatment of the population, created in organizations, are recommended to employees and their children who have suffered pneumonia associated with COVID-19 infection, to issue vouchers for sanatorium-resort treatment, purchased at the expense of public funds, as a matter of priority.
In order to fully cover the benefit categories of citizens in need of sanatorium-resort treatment, determined by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus No. 542 of 28.08.2006 "On sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement of the population", careful organizational work is being carried out in the Brest region. In cities and districts, the need for sanatorium-resort treatment is being studied, broken down by disease profile and the demand for preferential vouchers.
So, according to the results of 9 months of 2021, 88 thousand residents of the region received sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation at the expense of state funding sources. For these purposes, 22.4 million rubles of state funds were spent.
At the expense of state social insurance funds, 5,500 working citizens and their minor children underwent spa treatment.
The region provides the maximum coverage of all persons with disabilities and participants in the Great Patriotic War, who wish to receive sanatorium-resort treatment, as well as other categories having an extraordinary free right to receive vouchers.
As of October 1, 2021, about 3.3 thousand non-working pensioners received spa treatment.
Under the special control of the state, the population living and studying in the territories of the republic contaminated with radionuclides, as well as disabled children. So, in 9 months of 2021, 8,797 people who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster, as well as 494 disabled children, underwent rehabilitation and sanatorium-and-spa treatment.
In the region, special attention is paid to the organization of the summer health campaign. In the summer of 2021, 60.7 thousand children aged 6 to 18 were rehabilitated in camps of all types, which amounted to 100.4% of the plan.
During a difficult epidemiological situation, the heads of sanatorium and resort organizations are taking measures to implement organizational and sanitary and anti-epidemic measures to prevent the introduction and spread of coronavirus infection (COVID-19). There are dispensers with antiseptic agents for treating hands at the entrance to the building and in crowded places, the necessary supply of disinfectants and antiseptic agents, medicines, workers are provided with personal respiratory protection equipment (masks, respirators). The streams of vacationers in the provision of medical / health services (vacation of procedures strictly according to the schedule), catering (seating of vacationers in the dining room), during cultural events are divided as much as possible.
