28-February-2022

In 2021, 82,774 people were rehabilitated in the Mogilev region at the expense of public funds.

At the expense of state social insurance funds, through commissions for the rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment of enterprises, organizations from among working citizens and their minor children, 5925 people were sent for sanatorium treatment and rehabilitation, of which 2899 were children, including 896 accompanied by an adult , which amounted to 29.2 percent of the number of those in need.

Particular attention is paid to the improvement of the most socially vulnerable categories of citizens. First of all, these are children under the age of 18 who have a disability.

In January-December last year, 329 disabled children were sent to sanatorium-resort treatment free of charge at the expense of the republican budget, including 47 with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy.

In addition, 6 disabled children were rehabilitated at the expense of the off-budget state social insurance fund, 27 living in the territory contaminated from the Chernobyl accident.

During the summer campaign, 583 people from among the disabled children rested in various health camps.

In total, over the past year, 62.7 percent of the number of disabled children who applied were improved.

Also free of charge, at the expense of the republican budget, vouchers for sanatorium-and-spa treatment on an extraordinary basis were allocated to 15 disabled people and participants in the Great Patriotic War and 927 non-working disabled people of groups I and II, who were entitled to priority provision with vouchers.

With partial payment from the cost of vouchers, 2,287 people were sent to sanatorium and resort organizations, from among non-working labor veterans and disabled people of the III group, including those who are pensioners of law enforcement agencies.

Special attention is paid to the improvement of the health of the population affected by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and above all, children living and studying in areas contaminated with radionuclides.

For this category of children, annual free sanatorium treatment and rehabilitation is provided - one of the most significant and effective measures to reduce the negative impact of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster on their health.

In 2021, 6813 such children underwent sanatorium-and-spa treatment and rehabilitation in the region, including 699 of preschool and primary school age, 3 disabled children (Article 18), 193 aged 3 to 6 accompanied by one of their parents. Also, 10 non-working disabled people of groups I and II, who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster, were rehabilitated.

In the region, 100% coverage of sanatorium-and-spa treatment for children affected by the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant with appropriate medical indications is provided.

Also, during the reporting period, 158 students and 65,395 schoolchildren were rehabilitated in health camps.

Of the total population of the Mogilev region improved using public funds in 2021, 91.3 percent were children.
