Health camp "Beryozka" Department of Education of the Lida District Executive Committee took on vacation children from Ukraine

22-August-2022

18 guys from Ukraine, who arrived in our country after the start of a special military operation, are resting and gaining strength in the "Berezka" health camp of the Lida Regional Executive Committee. For three weeks, boys and girls will receive specialist help. During the stay at the health camp, the children will be included in the social environment and will have the opportunity to communicate with their Belarusian peers.

Specialists of the Red Cross and UNICEF plan to hold informational and recreational events in the camp, as well as psychosocial work with children. Children will receive health services and help preparing for school. Also, for children who have experienced various crisis situations, they organize classes with psychologists who will work to help children reduce their emotional distress and anxiety level.

This project is implemented in all regions of our country. In "Berezka" children from Grodno, Grodno, Lida, Ostrovets, Slonim, Voronovsk, and Shchuchy districts are sent to recuperate. These guys are of different ages: from eight to sixteen. Together with their parents and legal representatives, they arrived in Belarus in the period from April to July of this year. Every day these people receive the necessary humanitarian aid. After all, the events preceding the move already leave a deep mark on the child's psyche, and the move itself is capable of completely rebuilding his inner vision of the world. First of all, it depends on the age of the child and his ability to experience shock. When parents were offered to send their children to the camp for recovery, many were interested and immediately responded. The guys were very happy to have such an opportunity to find new friends and chat, it was interesting to spend the last month of summer before school.

All kinds of games, master classes, and trainings will be organized for children in "Berezka". The people of Lyd will do everything to make the next three weeks happy and useful for the children of Ukraine.
