Improving the health of children in the Gomel region during autumn holidays 2022

In order to organize the rehabilitation and recreation of children and adolescents during the autumn holidays of the 2022-2023 academic year, from October 30 to November 7 (inclusive) 2022, 397 daytime health camps were organized in the Gomel region on the basis of institutions of general secondary education, additional education for children and youth, 10 of them - on the basis of specialized educational and sports institutions, in which 9350 children were improved.

For this purpose, more than 253,000 rubles have been allocated from the republican budget for the rehabilitation of children in the Gomel region.

The amount of public funds to reduce the cost of a voucher to a health camp with a day stay for at least 6 days amounted to 4 rubles 55 kopecks per one bed-day for each voucher. The parental fee for a ticket to a day camp is set in the amount of an additional payment up to the full cost of the ticket.

The average cost of a ticket to health camps, depending on the age of the child, was: for children 6-10 years old - 32.29 rubles, 11-13 years old - 35.11 rubles, 14-17 years old - 37.76 rubles.

The work of health camps was organized according to the application principle. Children were admitted to the camp on the basis of orders from the heads of educational institutions at the child's place of study.

When enrolling children in the camp, the advantage was given to children from large, low-income and single-parent families, children from foster and guardian families who are in the SOP and are on various types of records, on intra-school control, with developmental disabilities. With these children, individual work was carried out with a psychologist and a social pedagogue.

The work of health camps was organized in compliance with sanitary, fire and other requirements for the organization of children's health improvement. In order to minimize the risk of introducing and spreading COVID-19 infection in health camps, the implementation of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures recommended by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus was ensured.

Meals in the camps were organized in accordance with the natural and monetary norms for food expenses established by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus. The drinking regimen was observed using disposable tableware.

Primary school teachers, social pedagogues, organizing teachers, teachers of music, physical culture and health, librarians were involved in the work in the camps.

In order to organize an interesting and varied recreation and recreation for children and adolescents during the autumn holidays, health-improving and educational programs were developed. The activities implemented in the camps were aimed at preserving and strengthening the health of children, developing civil, patriotic, environmental, spiritual and moral education, preserving Belarusian traditions, developing creativity, preventing injuries, formulating rules for safe behavior on the roads, near water bodies, in the event of fire.
