In the state institution "Republican sanatorium "Belaya Vezha" for veterans of war, labor and the disabled", located in the Kamenets district of the Brest region, on December 8, 2022, a meeting of the working group for the development of medical and health tourism of the Interdepartmental Council for Tourism under the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus for topic "Barrier-free environment in sanatorium organizations". The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, JSC Belagrozdravnitsa, Republican Unitary Enterprise TSENTRKURORT, TEUP Belarustourist, Kamenetsky District Executive Committee and regional media.

For the participants of the meeting, an introductory tour of the territory and material and technical base of the sanatorium "Belaya Vezha" was held and a positive assessment was given to the modernly equipped base of the health resort, created specifically for the treatment and rehabilitation of veterans of war, labor and the disabled.

From January 2023, the Rules for ensuring the accessibility of social infrastructure facilities, vehicles and rendered services for disabled people, assessments of the level of their accessibility, approved by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated November 21, 2022 No. 796, come into force. In this regard, the focus was the issue of creating an accessible environment in sanatorium-resort organizations for people with disabilities, not only with problems of the musculoskeletal system, but also with hearing and vision disabilities.

In the health resorts of the Brest region, measures are constantly taken to ensure access to all infrastructure facilities and create comfortable conditions for the stay of physically weakened people. All activities within the framework of the subprogram "Accessible living environment for the disabled and physically weakened persons" of the State Program "Social Protection", planned for 2016-2020, were completed in full and work continues on a similar program for 2021-2025.

For these purposes, the health resorts of the region spent 71.5 thousand rubles in 2021 (2020 - 47.7 thousand rubles, 2019 - 72.1 thousand rubles). Currently, the total number of rooms for the above category is 61 rooms for 122 beds, which is 3% of the total number of rooms. It should be noted that in 2021 a room for people with disabilities was created in the Nadzeya sanatorium of RUE Brestoblgaz. Currently, design estimates for two health resorts of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Belaya Vezha and Yaselda have been prepared and are undergoing an examination.

The work of health resorts to create an accessible environment for people with disabilities will continue.
