On the health improvement of children in the Gomel region during the winter holidays of the 2020-2021 academic year

Soon the time of winter holidays is the time that schoolchildren are looking forward to, because this is the time of snow fun and festive commotion. Often, guys think in advance about what to do on vacation. Perhaps someone is planning a walk with friends or a tourist trip. But the parents are also interested in this question: how to organize a vacation for their child, so that he would be satisfied, but they were also calm? And, of course, the best alternative to rest for a schoolchild is children's health camps.

According to preliminary data, on the territory of the Gomel Region during the winter holidays from December 25, 2020 to January 10, 2021, about 380 health camps of various profiles will function at the bases of general secondary education institutions, additional education for children and youth, specialized educational and sports institutions. day stay in which 10540 children can improve their health.

For these purposes, about 300.00 thousand rubles have been allocated from the republican budget. The amount of funds to reduce the cost of a ticket to a health camp with a day stay for one bed-day is 4 rubles 20 kopecks. The average cost of a ticket to health camps with a day's stay, depending on the age of the child, is planned in the amount of: for children 6-10 years old - 33.08 rubles, 11-13 years old - 35.02 rubles, 14-17 years old - 36.57 rubles.

In camps with a day stay, children are provided with good nutrition. Recreation camps are organized in compliance with sanitary, fire-prevention and other requirements for organizing children's health improvement. In order to minimize the risk of the introduction and spread of COVID-19 infection in the camps, the implementation of sanitary and anti-epidemic measures recommended by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus is ensured.

The organizers of the health camps are developing special health and educational programs, including the holding of health and fitness, sports and cultural events.

One of the important areas of educational work during the winter holidays is the promotion of a healthy lifestyle. In this regard, in the camps it is planned to hold a "Minute of Health", various classes with elements of fairy tale therapy, quizzes, trainings, etc. with elements of traffic rules, walking-workshops, etc. Also, during the shift in the camps, volunteer matinees, contests and games, outdoor walks, excursions and, of course, various interesting New Year's events are planned.

Within the framework of the republican New Year's charitable action "Our Children" for the children of the Gomel region, New Year events are planned, which are aimed at providing assistance and surrounding with attention, warmth, joy to children from large families, foster and foster families, family-type homes and those who, for a number of life circumstances it needs it most.

So, for example, within the framework of this action, on December 30 and 31, 2020, it is planned to conduct competitive, game programs timed to the New Year's holiday in health camps, with the presentation of souvenirs and gifts. It is also planned to organize a New Year party on the basis of the State Educational Institution "Center for Creativity, Children and Youth of the Zheleznodorozhny District of Gomel", a master class on arts and crafts and making souvenirs for the New Year. In addition, inmates of recreation camps in the Rechitsa region will be able to take part in the following events:

- regional charity holiday: the fairy tale "Visiting Morozko" and a dance and play program at the Christmas tree with Santa Claus and Snegurochka;

- "Accept New Year's Greetings" campaign (for chiefs, WWII and labor veterans, disabled children and children in hospitals);

- charitable action "Congratulate your neighbor" in cooperation with the Rechitsa deanery of the Orthodox Church.

The winners of international, regional and republican creative competitions, sports competitions, disabled children, children from large, low-income families, orphans will participate in the New Year's charitable holiday, which will be held on December 26, 2020. on the basis of the city center of culture, with the participation of the Chairman of the Gomel City Executive Committee P.A. Kirichenko, as well as in the regional charity New Year's holiday on December 28, 2020 on the basis of the Gomel State Circus with the participation of the Governor of the Gomel Region G.M. Nightingale.
