Results of the work of the Gomel region on the organization of sanatorium treatment and rehabilitation of the population for 2021

In the Gomel region, great importance is attached to the fulfillment of tasks to ensure state-guaranteed social benefits and the rights of the population in the field of sanatorium treatment and rehabilitation.

      Based on the results of work for 2021, the Representative Office of the Gomel Regional Department for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population allocated 134,786 residents of the region for sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation using the funds of the republican budget and the budget of the state non-budgetary fund for social protection of the population of the Republic of Belarus. 70.71 million rubles of state funds were spent on the implementation of these tasks.

      Particular attention is paid to providing vouchers for citizens who have the right to free extraordinary and priority sanatorium-and-spa treatment. So, 1,016 people with such a right were sent to the health resorts of the republic, including 17 disabled people and veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and 54 disabled people of groups I, II, enjoying benefits under article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 06.01.2009 “On social protection citizens affected by the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, other radiation accidents.

      In total, according to vouchers purchased at the expense of the republican budget, 3,588 non-working pensioners (law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and disabled people who are entitled to vouchers in accordance with the law) were sent for sanatorium treatment.

      6,425 people, including 2,600 minor children, received sanatorium-and-spa treatment using vouchers purchased at the expense of state social insurance funds.

      One of the priority tasks of the region is to provide sanatorium-and-spa treatment and rehabilitation for children living or studying in areas contaminated with radionuclides. At the expense of the republican budget funds provided for overcoming the consequences of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, 57,369 children were allocated for sanatorium treatment and rehabilitation, including:

- as part of organized groups - 52,711 children;

- vouchers for parents with children - 2,171 children;

- in health camps - 2,487 children.

     The focus is on the health of children with disabilities. In 2021, 776 disabled children were provided with vouchers for sanatorium and resort treatment, including:

- at the expense of the republican budget for vouchers for disabled children - 488 children;

- at the expense of the funds of the republican budget, aimed at overcoming the consequences at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, on vouchers for disabled children - 266 people;

- at the expense of state social insurance funds - 22 children.

An important direction in the work of the representative office is the organization of the rehabilitation of children during the vacation period in camps of various types.

In 2021, 2,127 camps were organized on the territory of the Gomel region according to profiles and areas of activity, in which 64,201 people improved their health in the amount of 5.87 million rubles, including:

- at the expense of the republican budget allocated for overcoming the consequences of the catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, 2,487 children living or studying in territories contaminated with radionuclides were treated in health camps around the clock during the summer period;

- with the use of public funds to reduce the cost of vouchers in health camps - 61,714 children, of which 507 are children with disabilities.

In 2021, 102.33 thousand .rubles of the regional budget.

Despite the current epidemiological situation in the country regarding coronavirus infection, the Representative Office of the Gomel Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population took measures to provide sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation to all residents of the region according to medical indications.
