On August 30, the Day of the Union State was held at the Zhemchuzhina children's rehabilitation and health center, located in the village of Borovka, Lepel district.

For 18 years, “Pearl” has been one of the regular performers of events in the organization of sanatorium and resort treatment for children financed under the Union State program. The holiday started with the solemn line “Unity of our states”.

Honorary guests were invited to the ceremony at the “Pearl” - the head of the Representative Office of the Permanent Committee of the Union State in Minsk, Marianna Shchetkina, the deputy head of the PS Standing Commission on Labor, Social Policy and Health, Lyudmila Makarina-Kibak, a member of the relevant PS Commission on Labor, Social Policy and healthcare Lyudmila Kananovich, head of the Lepel district executive committee Mikhail Kiselevich, representatives of the Office of the Representative Office of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium Treatment.

In the “Pearl”, young citizens of the Union State undergo not only health improvement - the children are treated to numerous sections and cultural events on Union topics, training sessions are held in specially equipped classrooms, language laboratories and computer labs, in the center there is a library with a large selection of literature. This allows children from Belarus and Russia not only to get to know each other better, but also to expand their knowledge of the history of relations between the two fraternal countries.

During the period 2004-2023, at the expense of the budget of the Union State, 4,600 children from the Bryansk, Kaluga, Tula regions of Russia, the Altai Republic of the Russian Federation, as well as from the Gomel , Mogilev and Brest regions of the Republic of Belarus.

In 2023, within the framework of the current agreement between the Permanent Committee of the Union State and the Municipal Unitary Enterprise “HITC “Zhemchuzhina””, 193 children from the Kaluga and Bryansk regions of the Russian Federation and the Gomel region of Belarus are undergoing treatment.

As part of the event, the solemn line “Unity of our states”, the dialogue platform “Union state with care for children”, the quest “Russia and Belarus - we are one people”, the sports festival “We strengthen the union through our friendship” and many other interactives.
