In 2023, sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations in Gomel accepted 111,504 people for vacation and treatment, including 72,023 people with independently sold vouchers. The volume of revenue from the sale of sanatorium and health services amounted to 113.4 million rubles, the growth rate by 2022 is 163.2%. 25,915 vouchers were sold for foreign citizens, revenue from the export of services amounted to 28.9 million rubles, the growth rate by 2022 is 212.5%.

The average occupancy rate of health resorts in the Gomel region for 2023 was 89.2% (83.6% in 2022).

In order to maintain the availability of medical and health services and prevent price increases, health resorts in the region are working to create special loyalty programs for clients, and apply promotions with discounts (discounts for early booking clients, 5% for regular clients, discount for members of the federation of trade unions and their children 25%). The increase in the average cost of one bed-day for vouchers sold independently amounted to 116.0% for citizens of the Republic of Belarus and 118.0% for foreign citizens by December 2022.

It should be noted the work of health resorts in developing the material and technical base, attracting additional investments, creating attractive conditions for vacationers, and the availability of sanatorium and health services for citizens of the Republic of Belarus, near and far abroad.

For example, the Solnechny Bereg sanatorium of the RUE PA Belorusneft reconstructed the main building of the sanatorium and a residential building for 75 places, built a parking lot for 49 places; DUP "Sanatorium "Pridneprovsky" modernized the residential building and acquired fixed assets; KUP HITC "Praleska" of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee constructed a platform and sidewalk made of concrete tiles, repaired buildings and modernized the roof; The sanatorium-resort unitary enterprise “Sanatorium “Silver Keys”” carried out repairs of facades, roofs of buildings and a connecting gallery, partial replacement of windows, and carried out the construction and modernization of a dance floor.

In total, in 2023, sanatorium-resort and health organizations of the Gomel region allocated about 17 million rubles to strengthen the material and technical base, including more than 250.0 thousand rubles to create conditions for a barrier-free environment for physically impaired persons.

To ensure a broad information and advertising campaign about nearby tourist and cultural attractions, excursions are offered to vacationers. Sanatoriums cooperate on an ongoing basis with the Gomel branch of the Travel and Excursion Bureau. Vacationers are invited to take part in excursion routes developed by the bureau.

Information about ongoing events and tourist routes is posted on information stands, on a ticker and using radio announcements, on the sanatorium’s websites.

Work is constantly underway to place relevant and reliable information in the media: publications, interviews, television and radio broadcasts. Information support for the activities of sanatoriums is carried out by maintaining accounts on social networks Instagram, Facebook, VK, OK, TikTok and the Telegram messenger. Push-mailing and email-mailing are carried out to regular clients, organizations of the Republic of Belarus, trade union associations and primary cells. Sanatoriums have developed brochures, booklets, and information sheets containing information about the treatment profile, types of procedures and the uniqueness of the natural healing factors used.
