In 2023, the representative office achieved the established indicators for health improvement and sanatorium-resort treatment of the region's population at the expense of government sources of funding. Thus, at the end of the year, 118.7 thousand residents of the region received health improvement in sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations, which amounted to 101.2% of the level of last year and 103% of the plan. 33.2 million rubles of public funds were spent on the implementation of these tasks, which is 16% higher than the costs of 2022.

For non-working pensioners, at the expense of the republican budget, 3915 vouchers were purchased and sold, of which 1650 vouchers were given to persons who have an extraordinary and primary right (disabled people and participants of the Great Patriotic War, disabled people of groups I and II, etc.) to free sanatorium and resort treatment at the expense of the republican budget and accompanying persons. During the reporting period, 275 vouchers were sold for law enforcement agencies, 800 vouchers for students, and 3,718 vouchers for working citizens at their place of work.

Particular attention is paid to the organization of sanatorium treatment and health improvement for children. In 2023, 108.6 thousand children in the region received health treatment in sanatoriums and health camps of all types, which is 1.8% more than in 2022. Of these, about 8 thousand children living and studying in contaminated areas, 1.0 thousand disabled children along with their accompanying persons, 3.7 thousand children of working citizens and 96.3 thousand people in health camps, including in summer period – 65.9 thousand children.

The health coverage of children in the Brest region in the summer of 2023 of the number of students was 45.1%, with the republican average being 42.2%. At suburban stationary camps, 22.9% of children improved their health in 2023 (2022 – 22.1%).

In the summer of 2023, there were 22 stationary health camps with 3,636 beds in the region, which in 2023 operated in 4 or more shifts and were all almost 100% loaded. To strengthen their material and technical base, 10.4 million rubles were spent from all sources in 2023, which is 2.8 times more than in 2022, including 6.8 million rubles from the local budget.

Significant funds for strengthening the material and technical base were allocated to the health camps “Electron” of the branch “Baranovichi Electric Networks” of RUE “Brestenergo”, “Salute” of the education department of the Brest City Executive Committee, “Yuventa” of the main department of education of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, “Dubok” of the department of formation of the Pruzhany district executive committee.

In the Brest region there are currently 19 certified sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations of various departmental subordination and forms of ownership, including 14 sanatorium-resort organizations with 3918 beds.

At the end of 2023, 102.4 thousand adults and children underwent treatment and rehabilitation at sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations in the region, which is almost 9% more than the previous year. The total revenue from the sale of services by health resorts at the end of 2023 amounted to 103.7 million rubles, which is 129% by 2022. Exports of services in 2023 amounted to 15.8 million rubles, or 111.9% compared to the previous year, and 12.6 thousand foreign citizens received health benefits.

The health resort system in the Brest region is constantly developing. Every year, health resorts invest significant funds on major and current repairs, the acquisition of new modern medical equipment and supplies, and landscaping. In 2023, health resorts spent 19.4 million rubles mainly from the owner’s funds for these purposes (in 2022 - 7.7 million rubles).

Thus, at OJSC “Sanatorium “Ruzhansky”” work was carried out to install the “Riviera” swimming pool and a canopy over the stage of the summer amphitheater, routine repairs of the hotel rooms, concert hall, landscaping of the territory, purchased medical and technological equipment, household equipment, furniture, a car , a minibus, a cleaning machine, a pavilion, and about 3.0 million rubles were spent for these purposes. JLLC “EcoBel “Kolbovichi” is constructing the 3rd start-up tourist complex in the area of the village of Kolbovichi, Baranovichi district; in 2023, 3.7 million rubles were spent for these purposes. In the branch “Health Center “Energia” of RUPE “Brestenergo”, the building was reconstructed to create a barrier-free environment for physically weakened persons, 2.4 million rubles were spent.

The issue of ensuring the safe stay of the population during sanatorium-resort treatment and recovery is under special control.

In the regions of the Brest region, interdepartmental working groups have been created to monitor the activities of sanatorium-resort and health-improving organizations with on-site visits. In 2023, these working groups examined 19 sanatorium-resort and health-improving institutions. In addition, the representative office conducted 10 unscheduled visits to health resorts in the region.

Work on sanatorium-resort treatment and improvement of the population of the Brest region will continue.
