In 2023, in the Grodno region, all indicators for health improvement and sanatorium-resort treatment of the region’s population were met at the expense of state funding sources.

The structure of the network of sanatorium-resort and health-improving institutions in the region is as follows: nine sanatoriums, 1 children's rehabilitation and health center and 23 stationary health camps with a total bed capacity of 3,080 places.

In the past year, the material and technical base of the sanatoriums of the Prineman region has been significantly strengthened. Investments in fixed assets from 4.4 million rubles in 2022 increased to 10.8 million this year. Sanatoriums actively purchased medical and technological equipment, carried out capital construction and repairs. In the Radon sanatorium, this is the modernization of the rooms of the main building, the modernization of the medical department, the reconstruction of the mud baths - 3.1 million rubles have been allocated and spent for these purposes. Sanatorium "Porechye" - modernization of the dormitory building, 2.4 million rubles spent. Sanatorium "Neman-72" - reconstruction of the hospital school - 1.7 million rubles. Sanatoriums are actively renovating their room stock, knowing full well that even double rooms for visitors are a thing of the past, not to mention block rooms.

Within the framework of the subprogram “Accessible living environment for disabled and physically weakened persons,” work has been and continues to be carried out in sanatoriums in the Grodno region to create a barrier-free environment.

The region's health resorts have 28 rooms for wheelchair users with a total capacity of 56 beds. All sanatoriums in the region working with the Republican Center have created a barrier-free environment. Over the past 2 years, 153.3 thousand rubles have been spent on these purposes.

These and other marketing policy measures allowed our sanatoriums to operate effectively this year. A total of 77,436 vouchers were sold in 2023 (75,231 in 2022).

With regard to the export of health services, the situation is gradually returning to pre-Covid times. Today, 95 percent of foreigners in our sanatoriums are Russian citizens.

At the same time, the component of sanatoriums in the Grodno region in the total export of tourism services in the region reaches 70%.

The occupancy rate of sanatoriums has also increased compared to the previous year. If in 2022 this figure was at 78.9%, then this year it is 82.4%.

The overall sales volume also increased from 63 to 77 million rubles. Including non-residents of the Republic of Belarus from 36 to 43.5 million rubles. The volume of sales from additional services also increased by almost 4 million rubles.

In 2023, the Grodno regional department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population sent 11,784 people to improve their health.

Including funds from the state extra-budgetary fund for social protection of the population, 5,940 people received sanatorium-resort treatment. Of these, 3,000 are children, including 2,096 in children's sanatoriums, and 892 in mother and child sanatoriums (departments).

As part of the State program to overcome the consequences of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, 1,456 people were restored to health. Including 1,283 children living or studying in contaminated areas as part of organized groups. For recreation, they went to the “Lesnaya Polyana” HITC, the “Zhdanovichi” HITC, and the “Nadezhda” HITC.

At the expense of the republican budget, 3,587 people received sanatorium-resort treatment, including 826 disabled people of groups I-II.

Particular attention was paid to the health of disabled children. During the year, 414 disabled children and accompanying persons received sanatorium treatment.

In children's health camps of all types, 71,828 children were healed, including 48,741 children in the summer.

Work on sanatorium-resort treatment and improvement of the population of the Grodno region will continue.
