Improvement of population health Mogilev region for 2023

In 2023, in the Mogilev region, 88,406 people were treated using public funds, which is 2,676 people more than in 2022.

At the expense of state social insurance funds, through the commissions for health improvement and sanatorium-resort treatment of enterprises, organizations from among working citizens and their minor children, 5,501 people were sent for sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement, of which 2,853 children were free of charge, including 798 accompanied adult.

Particular attention is paid to improving the health of the most socially vulnerable categories of citizens. First of all, these are children under the age of 18 who have been identified as disabled.

In 2023, 330 disabled children were healed using funds from the republican budget.

During the summer campaign, 462 disabled children rested in various health camps.

In total, in 2023, 792 disabled children, or 66.2 percent, were covered by all forms of sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation.

Also, free of charge, at the expense of the republican budget, vouchers for sanatorium and resort treatment were allocated on an extraordinary basis to 12 disabled people and participants of the Great Patriotic War and their equivalents and 912 non-working disabled people of groups I and II, who have the right to priority provision of vouchers.

With partial payment from the cost of the vouchers, 2,093 people were sent to sanatorium and resort organizations, from among non-working labor veterans and disabled people of group III, including pensioners of law enforcement agencies.

Particular attention is paid to the improvement of the health of the population affected by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, and above all children living and studying in areas contaminated with radionuclides.

For this category of children, annual free sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation is provided - one of the most significant and effective measures to reduce the negative impact of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster on their health.

In 2023, 6,588 such children underwent sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation in the region, including 597 of preschool and primary school age, 145 aged 3 to 6 years, accompanied by one of their parents. Also, 5 non-working disabled people of group II (Article 18) who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster were healed.

The region has provided 100% coverage of sanatorium-resort treatment for children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster with appropriate medical indications.

Also, over the past year, 72,070 schoolchildren were healed in health camps.

Of the total population of the Mogilev region recovered using public funds in 2023, 92.7 percent were children.
