Sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement for children in the Brest region in 2024

11-Mar-2024

Caring for the health of children occupies a priority position in the Brest region, as well as in the republic as a whole. One of the types of social assistance in strengthening the health of a child is preferential provision of sanatorium treatment and rehabilitation. Thanks to the socially oriented policy of the state, children have the opportunity to receive free sanatorium and resort treatment if they have medical indications.

It should be noted that annually about 80 percent of the total amount of funds allocated by the state is allocated to the implementation of benefits for sanatorium treatment and health improvement for children.

Children's sanatoriums in Belarus and sanatoriums that accept children with accompanying legal representatives are located in places with unique natural resources.

Sanatorium-resort treatment of children is carried out using modern methods. Health resorts are equipped with medical equipment that allows for the necessary treatment and diagnosis of diseases in children.

Children's sanatoriums offer year-round health improvement with the provision of the main educational course of the school curriculum.

In order to fully cover children in need of sanatorium-resort treatment in the region, careful organizational work is being carried out. In cities and regions, the needs of children are being studied, broken down by disease profile, and the demand for preferential sanatorium-resort treatment.

Thus, in 2024, about 11 thousand children of the Brest region, including 672 disabled children, 6.8 thousand children living and studying in radionuclide-contaminated areas of the region, will benefit from sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation in the health resorts of the Republic of Belarus.

Particular attention is paid to organizing the health of children in health camps during the holiday periods. At the level of the Brest regional executive committee, as well as city district executive committees, decisions are made annually in which all interested services are given instructions to organize a summer health campaign at the proper level, interdepartmental commissions are created to accept and monitor the activities of health camps.

In the summer, it is planned to operate 23 stationary health camps, the preparation of which is carried out on the basis of an adjusted long-term plan for strengthening the material and technical base of health camps in the Brest region for 2022-2024, approved by the Chairman of the Brest Regional Executive Committee Yu.V. Shuleiko, and in accordance with the requirements of state sanitary and fire inspection authorities. It should be noted that in 2024 a new country health camp “Zarnitsa” will be opened in the Drogichinsky district.

According to the above Plan, this year it is planned to allocate 8.7 million rubles to strengthen the material and technical base of country health camps, including 8.2 million rubles from the local budget. Capital work is planned to be carried out at the State Educational Institution “Recreation Camp “Salyut” of Brest”, located in the Kobrin district, State Educational Institution “Recreation Camp Dubok” in the Pruzhany District, State Educational Institution “Recreation Camp “Zarnitsa” in the Drogichinsky District. Also, significant financial resources will be allocated for the preparation of the State Educational Institution "Recreation Camp Dubravushka of the Ivatsevichi District", State Institution "Recreation Camp Volna-Luban of the Kobrin District", State Institution "Stationary Recreation Camp "Sputnik" of the Luninets District", State Institution "Recreation Camp Porechye in the Pinsk District", State Institution "Regional children's health camp "Yuventa" of Ivatsevichi district."

It should be noted that in 2024, it is planned to improve the health of 95.9 thousand children in health camps of all types during the holiday periods, including 65.4 thousand children in the summer.

Regular sanatorium-resort treatment (if indicated) and health improvement for children helps prevent the occurrence (exacerbation) of diseases and has a general strengthening effect on the growing body.
