"Man of the Year of Minsk Region"

In Molodechno, Minsk Region, on January 18, 2019, the ceremonial presentation of special diplomas to the winners of the regional competition “Person of the Year of Minsk Region” for 2018 took place. High reward marked 28 people in 6 nominations.
In the nomination "Industry, trade and public catering, consumer services, financial activities, entrepreneurship" Makushinsky Vyacheslav was awarded, from 10.10.1993. Director of the Belarusian-German SOOO "Children's Rehabilitation and Health Center" Hope "Vileika district, Minsk region.
The Nadezhda Children's Rehabilitation and Health Center (hereinafter referred to as the “Nadezhda” Children's Center) is a joint Belarusian-German project created for the rehabilitation and sanatorium-and-spa treatment of children affected by the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. The opening of the children's center was held in September 1994. Today, the center also accepts for sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation within the framework of the state program:
- children accompanied by parents (“Mother and child”);
- children with disabilities accompanied by parents.
In addition, the Nadezhda Children's Center implements international projects in cooperation with more than 30 charitable organizations from 12 countries of the world (Germany, Japan, Italy, Austria, Spain, England, Scotland, Ireland, Sweden, USA, Russia, Ukraine) according to sanatorium - resort treatment and health improvement of children:
- permanently residing in areas contaminated with radionuclides;
- having the same type of pathology in the period of remission (oncological diseases, diseases of the thyroid gland, etc.);
- from dysfunctional or low-income families, as well as orphans;
- with disabilities accompanied by parents or volunteers.
Vyacheslav Makushinsky is at the very beginning of the creation of the Nadezhda children's center. The director accepted the object, which was still under construction, on October 1, 1993, and did everything possible to bring his plans to life.
Today, the Nadezhda Children's Center is no longer a job for him, but a way of life, thanks to which he considers himself to be a completely happy person who has involvement in an important and necessary work. It is not easy to be a leader. Position requires an internal and spiritual message to the children who receive assistance, responsible attitude to partners. At the same time, the director of the Nadezhda Children's Center believes that it provides an opportunity for self-realization, understanding and showing what you are capable of.
During the period from 1994 to 2018, more than 100,000 people underwent sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation in the Nadezhda Children's Center.
The work with children in the center is carried out on the basis of its own Concept and the Program “Preservation and Promotion of Health” developed by the Nadezhda Children's Center with the active participation of Belarusian and German experts.
From the first days to the present, the children's center “Nadezhda” strictly adheres to the principles of sustainable development. Since 2001, developing environmentally friendly agricultural production, and grown products used in the nutrition of children.
In 2002, the Nadezhda Children's Center, on its own initiative, developed a comprehensive Program for the rational use of energy resources. Considering the great work done by the Nadezhda Children's Center on energy saving, the Committee on Energy Efficiency in November 2004 was given the status of the High Energy Efficiency Zone to popularize this activity.
In 2007–2008, the Nadezhda Children's Center introduced the environmental management system into its work and was the first social institution of the Republic of Belarus to be certified for compliance with its ISO 14001-2005 state standard.
In August 2017, a photovoltaic station with an installed capacity of 600 kW was built and put into operation with the support of the state and the active participation of foreign partners by the children's center “Nadezhda”.
Thanks to the support of the state and successful partnerships over the years, a unique rehabilitation and recreation institution has been created in the Republic of Belarus, which has a stable financial and economic position and ensures high quality and effectiveness of sanatorium-resort treatment and rehabilitation of children from zones contaminated with radio-nuclides and other categories. Today, the project "Hope" is the only joint Belarusian-German project in the humanitarian and social sphere operating on an ongoing basis.
