On the results of the health improvement of children in the Minsk region during the 2020 summer health campaign

During the summer health campaign, 598 camps functioned in the region, where 21 414 students received health improvement. 6 681 students rested in 39 round-the-clock camps.
There are 14 733 children in 559 day camps, of which:
- sports and recreation - 45 camps - 2 703 people;
- labor and recreation camps - 41 camps - 552 students.
Taking into account the epidemiological situation, the summer health campaign in 2020 had a number of features:
- low cost of vouchers; - there was no functioning of the tent camps in the summer period of 2020;
- the decision to open specialized health camps with round-the-clock stay was made taking into account the territorial epidemic situation and the level of demand for health services;
- the following terms of operation of health camps were determined: with a day stay - from 01.06.2020, with a round-the-clock stay - from 23.06.2020.
In all health camps, the necessary conditions were created to prevent the drift and spread of COVID-19. For the first time this year, parental visits to children have been restricted (prohibited). All camps were equipped with personal protective equipment: antiseptics, masks, gloves. The detachments are formed no more than 15 people in each. For each detachment, play rooms are assigned, the stay of children in strictly assigned places is organized. The arrangement of furniture in the premises was carried out in compliance with the principle of social distancing. Dispensers with hand sanitizer are installed at the entrances to buildings. Daily "morning filters" were carried out with obligatory thermometry in order to identify and prevent pupils with signs of respiratory diseases from entering the detachment. The unification of pupils from different detachments into one group is excluded. Cultural and sports and recreational activities were organized in the open air.
During the summer, 552 students were rehabilitated in 41 labor and recreation camps. The main types of work are landscaping the school grounds, repairing school furniture, decorating the walls of the corridors of educational institutions, sewing bed linen, weeding grain, caring for forest plantations, landscape design of flower beds, etc.
Throughout the entire health campaign, cooperation with the internal affairs bodies and the regional emergency management department proceeded effectively and smoothly. On the basis of the Minsk regional cadet school, a specialized regional health camp "Rescuer" with a round-the-clock stay for 40 children, members of the association of young rescuers-firefighters, functioned.
The summer health campaign is aimed at preserving, strengthening health and social protection and supporting the most vulnerable categories of children. Particular attention was paid to the health improvement of disabled children and children with special psychophysical development. During the whole summer, 526 disabled children were recovered. Emotionally comfortable conditions were created for the children. Thanks to targeted walks, working in the garden and in the greenhouse, caring for indoor plants, children received new emotions, impressions, consolidated previously acquired knowledge and skills.
Children in a socially dangerous situation, including children who are on various types of registration - 743 students, and children with whom individual preventive work is carried out - 216 people did not go unnoticed. For this category of children, various events were organized aimed at the formation of civil law culture, healthy lifestyle skills, prevention of antisocial deviations of adolescents: interactive games "Legal scholar", drawing competition "My responsibilities in the family", an hour of questions and answers "Family and conflicts "familiarity with the Orthodox library.
Children-orphans and children left without parental care in the Minsk region, 1,657 people were rehabilitated.
Children, from large families - 4,337 people and from low-income families - 1,172 students.
In the Minsk region, through the joint efforts of all concerned, with the support of the authorities, all the necessary measures were taken to ensure that parents, sending their children to camps, were absolutely calm about their life and health.
