In the Gomel region, great importance is attached to the fulfillment of tasks to ensure the state guaranteed social benefits and the rights of the population in the field of sanatorium treatment and health improvement.
Based on the results of the work for 2020, the Representative Office of the Gomel Regional Department for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population was directed to the sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement of 111900 residents of the region using funds from the republican budget and state social insurance funds. For the implementation of these tasks, 57.91 million rubles of state funds were spent.
Particular attention is paid to the provision of vouchers to citizens who have the right to free extraordinary and first-priority sanatorium treatment. Thus, 752 people who have such a right were sent to the health resorts of the republic, including 15 veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and 68 disabled people of groups I, II, who enjoy benefits under Article 18 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 06.01.2009 "On social protection of citizens who have suffered from the catastrophe at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, other radiation accidents”.
In total, according to the vouchers purchased at the expense of the republican budget, 3,522 non-working structures, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the disabled who have the right to provide them with vouchers in accordance with the law) were directed to sanatorium-resort treatment.
5,565 people, including 2,326 minors, have undergone sanatorium-and-spa treatment on vouchers, purchased at the expense of state social insurance funds.
One of the priority tasks of the region is to provide sanatorium treatment and health improvement for children living or studying in areas contaminated with radionuclides. At the expense of the republican budget, due to the functions of overcoming the consequences of disasters at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, 47,916 children were directed to sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement, including:
- in organized groups - 46,246 children;
- on vouchers for parents with children - 1670 children.
The focus is on improving the health of disabled children. In 2020, 1012 disabled children were provided with vouchers for sanatorium-resort treatment, including:
- at the expense of the republican budget for vouchers for disabled children - 763 children;
- at the expense of the republican budget in organized groups and on vouchers for parents with children - 227 people;
- at the expense of state social insurance funds - 22 children.
An important area of ​​work of the representative office is the organization of children's health improvement during the vacation period in various types of camps.
In 2020, on the territory of the Gomel region, the work of 1,922 camps was organized according to profiles and areas of activity, in which 47,563 children improved their health in the amount of 3.37 million rubles, including:
- at the expense of the republican budget, provided for overcoming the consequences of the disaster at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, 1000 children living or studying in areas contaminated with radionuclides underwent health improvement in round-the-clock summer camps;
- using state funds to reduce the cost of vouchers in health camps - 46563 children, of which 327 are disabled children.
In 2020, 96.33 thousand rubles were used to pay an additional payment to the full cost of vouchers for children from large, low-income families and children left without parental care, who are brought up in foster families, and to reduce the cost of vouchers to health camps for children of public sector workers rubles from the regional budget.
Despite the prevailing epidemiological situation in the country with regard to coronavirus infection, the Representative Office of the Gomel Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium Treatment of the Population took measures to provide sanatorium treatment and health improvement to all interested residents of the region according to medical indications.
