Unforgettable spring holidays of 2022 in the Brest region

Holidays are the time for games, entertainment, freedom in choosing activities, relieving accumulated stress, replenishing spent energy, and restoring health. Rest in the camp is a great opportunity for the development of various intellectual, cognitive and creative abilities of children.
 
Visiting health camps with a day stay, which are organized in the region during the off-season vacation period, children, being under the supervision of educators, receive not only quality rest, but also a lot of interesting activities that reveal the creative potential of each child. Here, boys and girls live according to the regime, attend excursions, cinemas, theaters, and participate in various events. In addition, every day the children receive a full three meals a day.
 
In the region during the spring break, 260 day camps were organized on the basis of institutions of general secondary education, additional education for children and youth, and on the basis of specialized educational and sports institutions, in which 9683 children underwent rehabilitation.
 
The average cost of a ticket to health camps with a day stay in the region was 38.00 rubles. Of these, in the form of cheaper vouchers, each child received state assistance in the amount of 24.60 rubles. In total, 238.6 thousand rubles were allocated from the republican budget for these purposes.
 
When completing health camps, special attention was paid to children of socially unprotected categories. 109 orphans, 85 disabled children, 427 children in a socially dangerous situation and on preventive records, 2211 children from large families were rehabilitated.
 
The programs under which the camps worked included activities aimed at improving health, recreation and raising children. The task of the teaching staff was to raise the importance of a healthy lifestyle, to organize interesting and entertaining free time during the holidays.
 
It should be noted that measures were taken in the region aimed at the safe stay of children in health camps, special attention was paid to the prevention of child injuries, the prevention of accidents and compliance with methodological recommendations for the prevention of the occurrence and spread of COVID-19 when organizing the work of health and sanatorium organizations for children.
 
Thanks to the professionalism of experienced teachers, in such a short time of the wellness shift, the children were able to get a charge of vivacity, joy and health, a lot of fun, and learn a lot of new things for themselves.
 
It should be noted that preparatory work is currently being actively carried out in the region to organize a summer health campaign in 2022. In accordance with the order of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population dated March 17, 2022 No. 14-o “On establishing the amount of funds from the republican budget to reduce the cost of one ticket to camps with round-the-clock and daytime stay of children in 2022”, the sizes are determined cheaper tours to camps of various types. Based on the order of the representative office dated March 22, 2022 No. 10-o “On the distribution of funds from the republican budget”, 80.4 thousand rubles will be allocated from the republican budget from April 1, 2022 for the preparation of stationary health camps in the region.
 
A draft decision of the Brest Regional Executive Committee "On the organization of children's health improvement in the summer of 2022" has been prepared, which defines instructions for all those interested (the city and district executive committees, the administrations of the city of Brest, the main departments for education, health, trade and services, the department of internal affairs, the board of the regional consumer union and etc.) to ensure the safety of life and health of children, their safe stay in health camps, including proper, high-quality nutrition, staffing health camps with qualified personnel of medical, pedagogical workers and catering workers. 
 
To improve the health of children in the summer of 2022, it is planned to open 22 stationary health camps in four or more shifts, the bed capacity of which will be 3,563 places per shift. This year, a new regional children's health camp "Yuventa" will be opened on the basis of the State Educational Institution "Bytensky Orphanage".
