Improving the health of children in Minsk in camps with daytime and round-the-clock stay during the spring break of the 2021-2022 academic year

In order to provide a high-quality organization of health improvement and recreation for children and adolescents during the spring break of the 2021-2022 academic year, to create conditions for active developmental leisure for students, from March 27 to April 3, 2022, 246 health camps were organized with daytime and round-the-clock stay of children, including:
- 244 day camps organized on the basis of institutions of general secondary education, additional education for children and youth, where, according to operational data, more than 9,700 schoolchildren from the capital improved their health;

- 2 round-the-clock specialized camps lasting 9 days, organized on the basis of country health camps, where 398 children from Minsk were improved.

In camps with day stay for children, three meals a day were organized (breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea).

Each educational institution has developed a special health-improving and educational program for students, including sports and recreation, sports and cultural events, games, competitions, tournaments, classes in interest associations: circles, sections, clubs, watching feature films and documentaries, holding themed discos and other events.

In addition, specialized programs were offered for children during the spring break. The list of specialized programs is quite wide: environmental, artistic, career guidance, programs for the prevention of child road injuries, sports, etc.

For children attending health camps with a day stay, maximum conditions were created for recovery, recreation, rational use of vacation time, the formation of a common culture and healthy lifestyle skills.

398 Minsk schoolchildren got the opportunity for 9 days to usefully spend time, improve their health and relax during the winter holidays not in the city, but in the countryside in the camps "Horizon" of the branch of the open joint-stock company "Management company of the holding "Horizon" Social Complex and "Zubrenok" Open Joint Stock Company "Minsk Automobile Plant" - the management company of the holding "BELAVTOMAZ".

The Horizon health camp opened its seventh off-season health shift during the spring break of 2022. Horizon offered six educational programs for children to choose from. So, for example, young bloggers at Blogger Camp were not only taught how to create a Tik Tok account from scratch and promote it, look for trends and use them to increase their audience, but also talked about safe behavior on the Internet.

In the IT-profile classes, they taught the basics of website building, where the children were offered a set of classes, during which they took the first steps in creating a web page.
Those who like to break their heads over a difficult task have gathered in the IQ Camp project. At the intellectual development classes, the children not only trained their logical thinking, but also got acquainted with the basics of economics and finance.

In the educational project Magic Camp, the guys deepened their knowledge of the English language. Classes are aimed at removing the language barrier, increasing vocabulary and increasing interest in learning English.

At the doodling master class, students were able to create an art puzzle of the happiest New Year's memories and moments. So, through the game, children got the opportunity to get acquainted with the world of their feelings and emotions.

For the first time in the off-season, the Zubrenok recreation camp hosted the children. Basically, the children of the employees of Minsk Automobile Plant OJSC, the managing company of the BELAVTOMAZ holding, underwent rehabilitation here.

The subject of the profile shift: "Journey from the past to the present in 9 days". The program is aimed at awakening interest in the history of the city and the country through active excursion and local history activities. Each day of the shift corresponded to one of the stages of the Belarusian statehood: the unions of the tribes of the Krivichi, Dregovichi Radimichi; Grand Duchy of Lithuania; Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth; Russian empire; BSSR; Republic of Belarus. Children got the opportunity to "travel" through historical epochs, to places of their small homeland, joined the excursion, local history, search and research activities.

Health camp "Zubrenok" has a good material base. The children were provided with comfortable rooms for living, an assembly hall, sports grounds, a gym, a library, rooms for circle work, a modern and well-equipped medical unit.

Taking into account the round-the-clock stay of children in the camp, a full-fledged 5-times balanced diet was organized for them, which, in combination with natural factors, outdoor activities, educational and physical culture and sports activities, provides a good healing effect.

The activities of the camps during the spring break of the 2021-2022 academic year were carried out taking into account the full implementation of the recommended sanitary and hygienic measures. The pupils observed the principles of social distancing; when catering, the placement of children in the dining halls was carried out taking into account the necessary distance.

The implementation of priority epidemically significant measures is ensured in all health camps. Particular attention is paid to catering, systemic control over the work of catering units, compliance with sanitary norms and rules, organizing the security of health camps and ensuring access control.
