The organization of summer recreation for children in the camps of the Gomel region takes place in close cooperation with local executive and administrative bodies.

As of August 16, 2023, there are 21 round-the-clock camps, including 13 at rented bases. In addition, 96 nine-day camps and 970 day camps for children have been organized. 42,119 children were provided with vouchers for health improvement in summer camps: 10,678 children - in round-the-clock camps, 31,441 children - in day camps.

The theme of the shifts in health camps is aimed at educating children in respect for the traditional values of the Belarusian people, popularizing the State symbols of the Republic of Belarus, expanding and deepening children's knowledge about the country's history, promoting a healthy lifestyle.

For example, in order to inform children about the activities of the Belarusian Republican Youth Union and the public organization "Belaya Rus", the branch "Health camp "Luch" organized meetings with the First Secretary of the Gomel OK NGO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union"; with the deputy chairman of the Gomel regional organization of the NGO "Belaya Rus", with the First Secretary of the Gomel City OK NGO "Belarusian Republican Youth Union".

Events dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation are held, as well as civil-patriotic events, such as the video challenge “I am a Belarusian and I am proud of it”, the military-patriotic quest game “Following the Victory”, the military-patriotic game “Pathfinders”, an exhibition drawings “Year of Peace and Creation”, online travel “Routes of the Memory Train”, intellectual and patriotic competition “Let’s look closer to the past again”, festival of arts of young patriots “Summer Bazaar-2023”.

In cooperation with representatives of military units and formations of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Committees, the Department of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, DOSAAF, interactive conversations are held with viewing thematic and educational videos, quizzes, situational tasks, and the distribution of educational visual and visual products.

As part of the prevention of child injuries, action plans have been developed that include training sessions on safe and responsible behavior during sports, cultural events; promotion of knowledge, skills and habits of safe life among pupils.

Creative competitions, exhibitions of children's drawings (posters and other products) are held on the problems of preventing road traffic injuries, fire safety and other emergencies; interdepartmental events are being held with the Gomel Regional Directorate for Emergency Situations, the Commission on Juvenile Affairs of the Gomel District, OSVOD, GAI, territorial centers of hygiene and epidemiology, departments of ideological work, culture, youth affairs of the Gomel District Executive Committee and the Belarusian Republican Youth Union.

The traffic police officers once again reminded the children about the safety rules “We know the rules of traffic - like a multiplication table!” in the recreation camp "Sozhsky coast".

Particular attention is paid to children in care, in a socially dangerous situation, with developmental disabilities. When carrying out events, they are involved in active participation. With these children, individual work is carried out with a psychologist and a social pedagogue.

Also, the work of 260 work and rest camps for daytime and round-the-clock stay was organized, where 3897 teenagers work and rest.

With the assistance of the Committee on Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the Gomel Oblast Executive Committee, jobs have been created for students in various types of activities with wages. The types of work that teenagers perform: sewing stage costumes, bed linen, landscaping school grounds, repairing school furniture, making boxes for flower seedlings, decorating and weeding flower beds and lawns, working in a nursery, and others.

In labor and recreation camps, the wages of adolescents range from 30.00 rubles to 400.00 rubles.

The practice of improving the health of orphans and disabled children continued. For the current period, 1026 orphans and 501 disabled children have rested and improved their health. For children with special needs of psychophysical development, the Education Department of the Rogachev District Executive Committee held a cultural and leisure camp on the basis of the State Educational Institution "Gorodets Special Boarding School" for 32 people.

The camps continued to implement the activities of the republican information and educational project "Step to Success", "The best health camp in the organization of civil and patriotic education of children", the cultural and patriotic film marathon "Watch and Remember" with the participation of representatives of authorities, public associations and other honored guests .
