On October 5, 2023, at the Republican Unitary Enterprise “FORUM” of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Belarus, a Republican seminar was held on the topic “Communication skills with people with disabilities of various categories, including providing situational assistance.”

The seminar was attended by Deputy Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population (hereinafter referred to as the Center) Tsai Alexander Anatolyevich, Head of the Representative Office of the Minsk Regional Directorate of the Center Evseeva Irina Alekseevna, Head of the Organizational Department of the Central Board of the Public Association "Belarusian Partnership of the Visually Impaired" Sukhotskaya Irina Anatolyevna, Chairman of the Central Council of the NGO "RAIK" Evgeniy Maratovich Shevko, Deputy Chairman of the Central Board of the NGO "Belarusian Society of the Deaf" Tatyana Mikhailovna Sheiman, head of the leisure sector of the UE "Primorsky Sanatorium", sign language interpreter Elena Aleksandrovna Marko, as well as representatives of the republic's sanatoriums.

The seminar participants got acquainted with the regulatory documents regulating the provision of an accessible environment for people with disabilities and physically impaired people.

During the republican seminar, the knowledge and skills necessary for communication when providing assistance to wheelchair users in overcoming barriers were demonstrated, the rules of accompaniment and provision of situational assistance were reviewed, as well as the rules of etiquette when communicating with people with visual disabilities, participants learned to establish communicative contact and choose a communication strategy with individuals with hearing loss.
