On October 6, 2023, the representative office of the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, together with the heads of health resorts in the Vitebsk region, held an on-site seminar-meeting on the results of work for 9 months of 2023 on the basis of the children's rehabilitation and health center "Pearl".

The meeting participants were acquainted with the infrastructure of the health resort, medical facilities, rooms for children, a pump room and the recently opened new building of the Zhemchuzhina Children's Educational Center. At the meeting, the results of the work of the representative office for 9 months were summed up and work plans for 2024 were outlined.

Since the beginning of the year, leading specialists of the Vitebsk region have distributed about 15 thousand vouchers to citizens in need of sanatorium-resort treatment and recovery in accordance with current legislation.

Of the 14 sanatorium-resort organizations in the region, 9 health resorts are winners in the competition for the purchase of services for sanatorium-resort treatment and public health improvement at the expense of budgetary funds.

Thus, for 2023, the Republican Center purchased about 19 thousand vouchers worth about 19.0 million rubles from budget funds. in a sanatorium in the Vitebsk region. 33% of the purchased vouchers were distributed to the Vitebsk region.

In addition, the Zhemchuzhina HICC annually accepts children affected by the Chernobyl disaster using vouchers purchased at the expense of the Union State. In 2023, 193 children were treated for health in the amount of more than 7.7 million rubles. rub.

In 2023, the Permanent Committee of the Union State at the State Institution “Lepel Military Sanatorium of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus” purchased 110 vouchers worth more than 5 million rubles. rub. for the rehabilitation of veterans and disabled people of the Great Patriotic War and military operations.

The results of the summer health campaign were also summed up. More than 44 thousand children have been healed in the camps of the Vitebsk region, which is 102.9% of the plan. Health coverage was 44.6%. There are plans to increase the number of permanent camps in areas that do not have them.

As part of the on-site seminar-meeting, the staff of the Representative Office and the heads of health resorts in the Vitebsk region visited the Khatyn memorial complex.

The event is dedicated to the Year of Peace and Creation and is aimed at an objective understanding of our history, the tragedy of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

“Khatyn” is a unique memorial complex that perpetuates the memory of the inhabitants of hundreds of Belarusian villages destroyed by the Nazis during the Great Patriotic War. This is a symbol of mourning and grief. During a visit to the museum, the guide's stories about the past, which contains difficult pages of history, touched everyone to the core.

By visiting special memorial sites, we not only pay tribute to the victims of the war, but also take another step to preserve historical memory, which is so important for living and future generations.
