Health improvement for children in Minsk in camps with day and round-the-clock stays during the winter holidays of the 2023-2024 academic year

In order to ensure high-quality organization of health and recreation for children and adolescents during the winter holidays of the 2023-2024 academic year, and to create conditions for active developmental leisure for students, from December 23, 2023 to January 7, 2024, 253 health camps with daytime and round-the-clock stays will be organized children, including 252 day camps, organized on the basis of institutions of general secondary education, additional education for children and youth, where within 7 days it is planned to improve the health of more than 11.8 thousand schoolchildren from capital.

In day camps for children, the state enterprise “School Nutrition Plant of Minsk” will organize three nutritious meals a day (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack).

Each educational institution has developed a special health and educational program for students, including New Year's holidays, physical education, sports and cultural events, games, competitions, tournaments, classes in interest associations: clubs, sections, clubs, viewing of artistic and documentaries, holding thematic discos and other events.

In addition, during the winter holidays, students will be offered specialized programs. The list of specialized programs is quite wide: environmental, artistic, career guidance, programs for the prevention of child road injuries, sports, etc.

Taking into account weather conditions, skating rinks and ski tracks will be prepared. Children can rent winter sports equipment.

For children attending day-time health camps, maximum conditions have been created for recovery, relaxation, rational use of vacation time, and the formation of a common culture and healthy lifestyle skills.

The 9-day health camp “Smena” of the open joint-stock company “Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant” will accept more than 130 children for health improvement from December 23 to 31. Basically, children of employees of Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant OJSC will undergo health improvement here.

Young Minsk residents will be united for nine days by a single theme of the shift - cultural and leisure, the purpose of which is the formation and development of a creative and active personality with the qualities of a patriotic citizen of Belarus.

An interesting, entertaining and exciting program awaits children. The camp will organize clubs and events in which students will be able to show their talents and unite into a friendly team.

For active recreation, the following events will be offered: sculpture competition “Snow Kingdom”, fairy-tale quest “In the footsteps of Santa Claus”, staging of fairy tales “New Year’s stories by the fire”, New Year’s quiz “Snow Puzzles”, New Year’s flash mob competition “Winter Rhythm”, karaoke battle “Tell me, Snow Maiden”, master classes on preparing winter surprises, team building “The Beauty of the Belarusian Winter”, creative competition “Comic Fun”, leader concert “Miracles for the New Year”, snow Olympic games, collage creation “Holidays of Belarusian Cities” and etc.

The Smena health camp has good facilities. Accommodation is organized in 3 dormitory buildings. The children are provided with cozy rooms for 2 and 4 people, an assembly hall equipped with modern audio, video and lighting equipment, a gym, a library, and rooms for group work. ,

On the territory there are children's playgrounds, a sports ground, a medical center, a bathhouse with showers, a dining room with 200 seats, a library, a billiards room, and table tennis. It has its own ski base with equipment.

The entire territory of the complex is fenced and guarded, equipped with a video surveillance system.

Taking into account the round-the-clock stay in the camp, children will be provided with a full 5 balanced meals a day, which, in combination with natural factors, active recreation, educational and physical education and sports activities, provides a good healing effect.

Particular attention is paid to the organization of catering, systematic monitoring of the work of catering units, compliance with sanitary norms and rules, organizing the security of health camps and ensuring access control, and monitoring the condition of pupils by medical workers.

The activities of the camps during the winter holidays of the 2023-2024 academic year will be carried out taking into account the full implementation of the recommended sanitary and hygienic measures.
