Carrying out additional winter holidays in the Minsk region

In order to organize effective leisure, employment and health improvement for students of educational institutions in the Minsk region, during the additional winter holidays from February 19 to 25, 2024, 190 health camps with daytime stay for children were organized on the basis of general secondary education institutions for 3816 students.

In children's camps, 34 orphans, 56 disabled children, 27 children from low-income families and 917 children from large families were healed. Much attention was paid to the employment and organization of leisure time during the holidays for teenagers prone to deviant behavior, children in a socially dangerous situation (145 students), children with whom individual preventive work is carried out (12 people).

During the additional winter holidays, a wide range of different activities were presented for children: outdoor games, sports, excursions to museums and visits to entertainment centers, educational walks and virtual excursions around Belarus, preventive measures aimed at life safety, and the formation of a healthy lifestyle.

Institutions of additional education for children and youth took part on a daily basis in organizing leisure activities for pupils of health camps. Master classes and game programs were held for the children.

For the pupils of the Druzhba health camp, the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 2 of Borisov” organized a quiz game “You won’t be lost with life safety, you will always find a way out.” During the game, students remembered the basic rules of behavior in case of fire, gave answers to riddles, solved a crossword puzzle, and also answered questions in an interactive quiz.

At the Krinichka health camp of the Pershai Secondary School in the Volozhin district, the day was held under the motto “It’s great to be healthy!” The children took part in the competitive game program “Our Health is in Our Hands” and competed in strength and agility at the sports festival “Sportlandia Calls You.”

Under the motto “Learning safety rules is always useful!” The Day of Safe and Responsible Behavior was held at the Rodnichok health camp of the State Educational Institution Secondary School No. 4 of Dzerzhinsk. The pupils took part in the game program “Traffic Light Secrets”, during which they once again remembered the rules of the road and became acquainted with road signs; showed their ingenuity and resourcefulness during the game program “You and I are a friendly family.” As part of the Mother Language Week, the children took part in the “Selfie in Belarusian” competition.

Additional holidays for the children in the health camp “RITHM” of the State Educational Institution “Gymnasium No. 1 of Lyuban” were fun and dynamic, creative and educational. Thus, as part of the “February Reboot” project, the children took part in the relay race “My dad/grandfather served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus” and the creative workshop “We have someone to be proud of.”

At the health camp “Zorachki” of the State Educational Institution “Okolovskaya Secondary School of Logoisk District”, the children took part in the sports relay race “Who is First” and the environmental quiz “Journey to the World of Wildlife”. An educational event was organized for students at the school local history museum to mark the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

Pupils of the health camp “Winter Mosaic” of the State Educational Institution “Gymnasium of Dzerzhinsk” went on a tour of the city of Dzerzhinsk “My city is like a book, I can read it with a magician.” During the excursion, the children learned new facts about their hometown, visited the Holy Protection Church, walked along the Alley of Heroes of the Soviet Union and Socialist Labor, and visited the editorial office of the Uzvyshsha newspaper.

In the health camp “City of Childhood” of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 2 of Kopyl named after Tishka Gartny”, Life Safety Day was held, the motto of which is “We know everything about safety!” As part of Safety Day, events were held aimed at preventing children's road traffic injuries: the conversation “Be more visible in the dark”, drawing up individual plans for a safe route from home to camp and back. The camp students visited the State Institution “Kopyl Regional Center of Culture”, where they took part in the video digest “Ministry of Emergency Situations Warns!”, aimed at developing a culture of life safety and rules for safe handling of fire among the children.

Every day at the “Vyaselka” health camp of the State Educational Institution “Secondary School No. 9 of Molodechno” began with a moment of safety. A trip to the State Institution “Minsk Regional Museum of Local Lore” aroused great interest among the students - the children got acquainted with the most ancient tools at the museum lesson “I am an archaeologist”. In order to educate students in patriotism, love and respect for our Motherland, a quiz “My Belarus” was held, where the children showed their knowledge about the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus, its traditions and famous fellow countrymen.

Pupils of the health camp "CHIK" of the State Educational Institution "Secondary School No. 5 of Slutsk" visited the branch of the Slutsk Museum of Local Lore "Art Gallery named after. V. Sadina." The children learned a lot of interesting things about the history of the creation of books and about the first book printers. Next, the guys visited memorable places in the city of Slutsk - monuments to Sofia Slutskaya and Anastasia Slutskaya.

Pupils of the health camp "Solnyshko" of the State Educational Institution "Neman Secondary School named after I.D. Gursky" of the Uzdensky district visited the educational institution "Neman Outpatient Clinic of a General Practitioner", in which each of the students tried himself as a laboratory assistant for drawing blood under the strict guidance of paramedic-laboratory assistant Demidovich L.I. There was also an excursion to the World of Candles manufactory, where the children had the opportunity to see the stages of the candle making process and learn more about the culture and history of handmade candle production. The meeting “Instilling Spiritual and Moral Values” with the rector of the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, Father Alexei, was interesting.

Pupils of the health camp “Jolly Fellows” of the State Educational Institution “Starosverzhenskaya Secondary School” of the Stolbtsovsky district took an excursion to the OJSC “Glass Factory “Neman””, the only enterprise in the Republic of Belarus with centuries-old traditions of glass making.

The 65th automobile brigade of military unit 46125 opened its doors to pupils of health camps in Zhodino. The children were given a fascinating excursion around the territory of the military camp, demonstrated the life of military personnel, samples of uniforms and weapons, communications equipment, and, of course, the Museum of the Transport Troops.

Control over the work of health camps during the additional winter holidays is ensured through monitoring. For these purposes, more than 39 visits of working groups to study the activities of health camps in the region took place locally in 23 districts of the Minsk region. Based on the results of monitoring, no violations or comments regarding the organization and functioning of the camps were identified.
