Results of the health improvement of children in Minsk in the 1st shift of the summer health campaign in 2024

The health of the capital's children was provided by 553 camps with daytime and round-the-clock stays for children (including sports teams), including:

21 stationary health camps,

13 camps organized on rented bases of sanatorium-resort, health-improving and other organizations of the republic,

16 sports camps (detachments) are organized on rented bases of stationary health camps, sanatorium-resort and health organizations of the republic,

442 day camps, organized on the basis of institutions of general secondary education, additional education for children and youth, specialized educational and sports institutions and secondary schools of the Olympic reserve.

To improve the health of children around the clock for a period of 15-18 days, the work of 30 country health camps has been organized, the balance holders of which are organizations in Minsk, of which 21 are stationary health camps, 9 are sanatorium-resort and health organizations.

To assist in the preparation of camps with round-the-clock stay for work in the summer of 2024, funds from consolidated sources in the amount of more than 12.5 million rubles were allocated, including from the funds of the owners of health camps - more than 9.9 million rubles, the republican budget - 122,009 thousand rubles, from the city budget 2.5 million rubles.

The allocated funds were used in a timely and efficient manner. This made it possible to carry out work at a higher level to ensure the comfort and safety of children in recreational areas and create conditions for physical education and sports.

Health camps with round-the-clock stays began operating on the first shift from May 25 to June 5. Their work is planned in 4-5 shifts, the duration of the shifts will be from 15 to 18 days. Day camps have been organized since June 3.

In all health camps, ceremonial openings of shifts were held with the raising of the National Flag and the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Belarus, and the presence of corners of state symbols was ensured.

During 1 shift, 39,552 children were rehabilitated in camps of various types, which amounted to 51.3% of the plan for the season, including 9,299 children in camps with round-the-clock stays, and 30,253 children with day-time stays.

During 1 shift, 402 children from among orphans and children under guardianship were rehabilitated in camps with day and round-the-clock stays, which amounted to 29.8% of what was planned for the season (1,347 children).

The practice of improving the health of disabled children who were sent to camps with daytime (based on correctional and developmental education centers) and round-the-clock stay together with teachers from boarding schools continued. In total, 483 children from the category of disabled children were healed in 1 shift, which amounted to 41.0% of the planned number (1179 children).

Children of employees of budgetary organizations in Minsk received additional payments from the city budget when purchasing vouchers to country camps in the amount of up to 137 rubles per voucher. 640 children used this type of assistance during 1 shift.

In order to prevent crime and prevent antisocial behavior of adolescents during 1 shift, using funds from the city budget and state funds, they were sent to health camps with daytime and round-the-clock stays 792 minors, registered in various types and brought up in dysfunctional families.

12,678 children were sent to 418 camps (detachments) according to profiles and areas of activity with day-time and round-the-clock stays, of which 2,122 were aged 15-18 years.

To meet the needs of children in various types of activities and for them to acquire useful skills, 145 labor and recreation camps (detachments) with day-time and round-the-clock stays have been organized, in which 1,298 adolescents have been rehabilitated.

Jobs in accordance with the list approved by the Minsk City Executive Committee were provided mainly by educational institutions, where children were hired as free-rate janitors, cleaners and were engaged in cleaning, landscaping and landscaping school grounds, repairing and binding books and teaching aids in the library.

Under the terms of the concluded agreements, jobs were provided by structural divisions of the state association “Minsk City Housing Economy” and PKUP “Minskzelenstroy”.

The leading positions in terms of mass deployment are traditionally occupied by sports and recreational camps with daytime and round-the-clock stays, organized by the structural divisions of the Sports and Tourism Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee, in which 6,471 child athletes were treated, including 1,196 adolescents aged 15-18 years.

The pedagogical strategy of the summer health campaign is determined by the theme of the Year of Quality and the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the Republic of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.

When planning the work of the camps, special attention is paid to events of a civil-patriotic nature, issues of genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.

The following events were implemented in camps with day-time and round-the-clock stays for children: unified information days were held on the topics “The Year of Quality is the key to the success of the country’s socio-economic development”, the “Let’s Sing the Anthem Together” campaign, ceremonial lines “Our symbols are our pride”, patriotic information watch “Minsk - Hero City”, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the awarding of the honorary title “Hero City” to the city of Minsk.

Conversations and dialogues “I dream that the world would not be familiar with war”, military-patriotic holidays “We learn from the heroes to protect the Fatherland”, as well as patriotic song competitions, creative work competitions “Beatless Soldiers of Victory!”, “The History of War in My History” were held families”, reading competitions “Reading about the war”, exhibitions of works “Remember, Honor, Proud!”, excursions to the historical and military complex “Stalin Line”, movie marathons “Watch and Remember”.

Pupils of health camps took part in the republican action “Places of Memory” to maintain in proper order military graves of the Great Patriotic War period and memorial plaques of heroes of the Great Patriotic War.

In all premises of the camps with day-time and round-the-clock stay of children, the presence of corners of state symbols is ensured; the plans of the camps include educational classes “What do the coats of arms and flags of Belarusian cities mean?”, quiz tournaments “Wise Men and Wise Girls”, dedicated to the history of the Republic of Belarus, memorable dates and public holidays, conversations “State symbols of the Republic of Belarus”, etc.

Events were held to mark the anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War: on June 22, the Day of Remembrance and Sorrow “We remember, we are proud!” was held, the military book week “Reading about the war”, viewing of the presentation “Children - Heroes of the Great Patriotic War”.

In order to ensure safety, the job descriptions of camp commanders and unit teachers include requirements for maintaining safe living conditions for children and adolescents. Camp educational plans include activities aimed at promoting safe and responsible behavior.

In order to promptly respond to the operational situation, employees of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee ensure the protection of public order and the safe stay of children in health camps located in the Minsk region, as part of five mobile groups.

The Minsk City Executive Committee approved a schedule for monitoring the work of stationary health camps for 2024, during which working groups visited health camps to familiarize themselves with their work and provide methodological assistance. During 1 shift, 29 country health camps were examined.

No significant violations were identified in the organization of health improvement, nutrition and compliance with sanitary and epidemiological regulations. No emergencies affecting sanitary and epidemiological well-being were recorded.
