On November 1, 2024, in the concert hall "Vitebsk" a solemn meeting dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Vitebsk State Order of Peoples’ Friendship Medical University was held.

The celebratory event was attended by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Khodzhaev, members of the Council of the Republic and the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the leadership of the Vitebsk region, heads of health care institutions and many other honored guests.

Alexander Khodzhaev read the congratulatory address of the Head of State and congratulated the faculty, staff and students on the jubilee date.

Alexander Khodzhaev emphasized:

"Vitebsk State Medical University is one of the oldest and one of the best in the Republic of Belarus. Each healthcare worker who graduated from this medical university is distinguished by high professionalism, empathy, and the desire to work conscientiously and serve his state. I am convinced that these traditions, formed over many decades, will be passed on to subsequent generations.

The member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the general director of the cultural center "Vitebsk" Gleb Lapitsky and the deputy chairman of the Standing Committee on Health, Physical Culture, Family and Youth Policy of the House of Representatives Alexander Shipulo congratulated VSMU on its anniversary.

The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin wished the Vitebsk State Medical University prosperity, new discoveries and high achievements.

During the solemn Council, university employees were awarded with the "Excellence in Health Care of the Republic of Belarus" badge, Certificates of Honor and Gratitude, Jubilee Medals "80 Years of Liberation of Belarus from the German-Fascist Occupiers".

The program of the event was decorated with the performances of the creative teams of the VSMU student club, as well as the invited guests-graduates of the university from different years. The performance of the composition "We - VSMU" became the culmination of the holiday.

The only leading veterinary university in Belarus is celebrating its 100th anniversary. The Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine has been running its history since November 4, 1924.

Today, the Veterinary Academy is one of the largest educational and scientific centers for the training of personnel for the agro-industrial complex of Belarus.

Jubilee badges, established for the 100th anniversary of the academy, were awarded to 70 students - these are presidential scholars, laureates of scientific and practical conferences, who have distinguished themselves in studies and research activities. They are trained in specialties that are in demand in the agricultural industry - zootechnics, veterinary pharmacy, veterinary sanitary examination, and others. Jubilee medals "100 years of the Academy of Veterinary Medicine" were awarded to 30 team members who have been working in the educational institution for more than 20 years and made a significant contribution to the training of professional personnel for agriculture.

During the solemn event, Irina Subbotina, assistant professor of the Veterinary Academy, was awarded the Gratitude from the Alexey Talai Charitable Foundation for organizing educational tours for Donbass children who are recuperating in the Republic of Belarus this summer.
