Two people addressed the director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, Henadzi Balbatouski, with their questions.

Svetlana from Lelchitsy was the first to call. She said that her husband suffers from a complex form of psoriasis. Every year they go together to the Berezina sanatorium to improve their health. The woman asked if there were other similar health centers in our country where people with skin diseases are treated. She also wanted to know if there are specialized sanatoriums for children in Belarus that deal with such problems. Henadzi Balbatouski noted that the only sanatorium for adults is Berezina, and the dermatological profile for children is declared only in health resorts located in Sochi and Miskhor.

The next question was asked by Galina from the same city. Her husband is a combat veteran. The woman asked to explain to her what benefits she needs to have to get a free voucher. The Director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Spa Treatment of the Population explained that if the spouse has the status of a combatant, he needs to contact a specialist in health improvement and spa treatment of the population in the Lelchitsy District, write an application there and submit a medical certificate that confirms the need for treatment.

Answering journalists' questions, Henadzi Balbatouski noted that there are no fundamental changes in the legislation on health improvement and spa treatment this season.

- We continue to maintain the availability of vouchers for our citizens. The funds of the republican budget and the social insurance fund have been allocated in sufficient quantities. The number of citizens of the preferential category sent for health improvement has not been reduced, on the contrary, the number of vouchers for unemployed citizens and disabled people will be increased this year. We plan to fulfill all social obligations and all activities of state programs. The implementation of the state program for the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident is especially relevant for the Gomel Region. Of the more than 80 thousand children sent for health improvement and sanatorium treatment in the republic, almost 90 percent are children from the Gomel region.

As part of his visit to the Gomel region, the director of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population visited the Crystal Children's Health and Spa Center and got acquainted with the organization of work on sanatorium-resort treatment and health improvement of preschoolers from areas affected by the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster.
