Results of the 2025 summer health campaign in the Brest region

In the Brest region, during the summer health campaign of 2025, 762 educational, health, sports and health camps (hereinafter referred to as camps) were opened, of which 668 camps are day camps and 94 are round-the-clock camps. They treated 62,721 children of the region at the expense of the republican budget, including 22,706 children in round-the-clock camps, and 40,015 children with day stay. In addition, 386 children underwent health treatment in the camps at full cost. Children were recruited to the camps strictly on an application basis.

During the current summer period, 23 seasonal camps were opened, where 17,257 children rested during the summer period with the participation of state funds. Also, 1,356 children underwent health improvement at the bases of the KUP "DROC "Svitanak" and KUP "DROC "Kolos" of the main department of education of the regional executive committee in camps with round-the-clock stay. All country camps worked in four or more shifts.

The work on the preparation of stationary camps was carried out in accordance with the Plan approved in the region for strengthening the material and technical base of health camps of the Brest region for 2025 and on the basis of orders, recommendations of state sanitary supervision and fire supervision authorities. As of 01.09.2024, according to the owners, 6359.8 thousand rubles were spent on strengthening the material and technical base of 23 stationary health camps in the region, including 135.3 thousand rubles from the republican budget, 3856.7 thousand rubles from the local budget, 1645.0 thousand rubles from the owner, 711.1 thousand rubles from sponsorship, 11.7 thousand rubles from trade union funds.

As before, special attention was paid to the health improvement of children from socially vulnerable categories. During the current summer period, 1895 children - orphans and children from foster and guardianship families, 793 disabled children, 1710 children on preventive registration and in a socially dangerous situation and 11520 children from large families were rehabilitated. According to operational information as of 09/04/2025, 572.4 thousand rubles of local budget funds were used to reduce the cost of vouchers to camps for children of public sector employees, to pay an additional fee up to the full cost of vouchers for socially vulnerable categories, and to purchase vouchers for boarding school pupils.

When organizing educational work in the camps, an emphasis was placed on holding events that were relevant in form and information-rich in content, related to ideological, civic and patriotic education: campaigns, dialogue platforms, competitions, festivals, plein airs.

Preventive work was carried out to prevent crimes and offenses related to the use of narcotic and toxic substances, spices and vapes.

Children were invited to visit exhibitions in national, regional and school museums. Particular attention was paid to holding events dedicated to significant events in the history of the Republic of Belarus and having special historical and socio-political significance.

Also, the practice of organizing camps in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, the State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus was continued.

Thus, during the summer health campaign, 47 military-patriotic camps were organized, in which 1928 children underwent health improvement.

In the summer, 139 labor and recreation camps were organized for the health improvement of 2.3 thousand children aged 14-17 years.

In the region, all interested services established control over compliance in the camps with all types of sanitary and epidemiological requirements, fire safety rules, safe operation of buildings and structures, water safety, as well as labor legislation.

In the summer of 2025, there were no cases of death, group outbreaks of disease among children in camps, or fires at health facilities in the region.

Materials on the popularization of children's recreation in health camps in the summer were constantly covered in the media. Thanks to the joint interdepartmental efforts of the workers who organized the children's health improvement, the young citizens of our region received full health improvement and rest, a comprehensive education and unforgettable impressions during the summer period, which will remain with them until next summer.
