A meeting of the council of the regional organization «Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan» was held in Vitebsk region

The Vitebsk Regional Council of the "Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan" OO held a round table in the Media Center on the topic "On the Implementation of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Amendments to Laws on Veterans' Issues" dated November 11, 2024, No. 37-Z.
Head of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Oblast Executive Committee, Marina Novitskaya, said that the joint work of veterans of the war in Afghanistan and public associations is of great importance in the matter of military-patriotic education of young people and gives positive results.
Olesya Chernaya, chief representative of the Vitebsk Regional Office of the Republican Center for the Rehabilitation and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, explained to the participants of the event about the free spa treatment and recovery of veterans of combat operations on the territory of other states from among military personnel.



During the event, representatives of the health department of the regional executive committee, the regional committee for labor, employment and social protection of the population, the military commissariat of the region and other departments and services answered questions about the possibilities of rehabilitation, the provision of sanatorium-resort treatment, medical and social services, and pension provision.


The results of the work of the regional organization "Belarusian Union of Veterans of the War in Afghanistan" for 2025 and plans for 2026 were also summarized.
