City training seminar on organizing children's health improvement during the summer period of 2026
15-May-2026On May 12, 2026, a citywide training seminar on organizing children's summer health improvement was held at the Sand Dune Beach Sports Center of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, which opened in January of this year.

The seminar was organized by the Minsk City Office of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Spa Treatment of the Population and the Olympic Sports and Health Complex, a subsidiary of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
Representatives of interested city committees, departments, and services, education department specialists responsible for health improvement, and heads of country educational and health camps participated in the seminar.

The seminar was opened by Valery Nafranovich, Head of the Minsk City Office of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Spa Treatment of the Population.

In his report, Valery Nafranovich noted that this year, more than 78,500 young Minsk residents will be able to spend their summer holidays in children's camps of all types. Twenty-five of the 29 suburban children's educational and health camps will operate in a five-shift schedule.
The list of permanent camps in Minsk, as well as the planned volumes of children's health improvement in day and full-time camps, based on data from monitoring studies conducted by the Education Committee of the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Main Sports Department of the Minsk City Executive Committee, were approved by the Minsk City Executive Committee's resolution "On the Organization of Children's Health Improvement in the Summer of 2026."
To coordinate the actions of the committees and departments involved in organizing summer recreation and health improvement for children and adolescents, this resolution approved an action plan and the composition of the city headquarters for organizing children's health improvement.
Valery Nafranovich also noted that health improvement programs for children with disabilities funded by the capital's budget are becoming a tradition. In 2026, an agreement was reached to improve the health of 120 children with disabilities, such as diabetes and cardiac problems, accompanied by one parent, at a health camp organized at the Solnyshko sanatorium of Belagrozdravnitsa. Furthermore, the head of the representative office noted that in the summer of 2026, more than 5,000 schoolchildren will undergo health improvement programs at military-patriotic camps at military units, border outposts, and educational institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
Representatives of interested Minsk agencies and services addressed the seminar participants.
Dmitry Meleshko, Deputy Head of the Prevention Department and Head of the Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Group of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee, reported on the organization of public order protection in suburban health camps.

He emphasized the personal responsibility of the heads of the companies that own country camps and the heads of health camps to immediately take measures to eliminate and prevent violations, accidents, and emergencies during the summer health campaign.
