Events dedicated to the Union State Day were held in Sidelniki
23-Jun-2026The Sidelniki Children's and Recreation Center once again confirmed its status as a unique platform for strengthening friendship between the youth of Belarus and Russia.

The official part of the program began with the ceremonial opening of Union State Day, where officials and the center's management delivered welcoming remarks, wishing the children a wonderful holiday, good health, and new exciting discoveries.

Immediately following the official part, the celebration took on a vibrant color scheme thanks to creative workshops under the general title "City of Craftsmen," which took place outdoors. The locations offered activities for every taste.

Lovers of traditions and crafts learned to weave classic wreaths from wildflowers and herbs, mastered fabric painting in the workshop, and created memorable souvenirs using wooden blanks as the basis for the painting. A real magnet for young crafters was the area where everyone could make a bracelet from wooden beads, and the children also enthusiastically created figurines from play dough.

A themed interactive area, "Pioneer Camp. Greetings from the USSR," added a special touch to the celebration.
The retro atmosphere, stylized photo zone, and energetic dance program allowed the older generation to revel in a bit of nostalgia, while helping the younger generation learn more about the traditions of the past. For the youngest guests, vibrant face painting instantly transformed the children's faces.
One of the most important missions of the event was historical and cultural education. Participants and guests of the celebration explored an exhibition-presentation reflecting the history of the Union State in figures and dates, and also viewed an exhibit prepared by the Mozyr District Organization of the Belarusian Union of Women.

No large-scale celebration in these parts is complete without traditional treats. The "Blin-da-Dranik" pancake shop was a huge hit with participants. The Day's finale was a large interactive playground. Professional entertainers, as well as a Fixie show with balloon figures, gave the children a wealth of pure emotions and hearty laughter.
At midday, the epicenter of activity shifted to the sports and discussion areas. Competitions unfolded on the football field.
Simultaneously, an open dialogue entitled "Unity of Our States" began. A little later, the square sparkled with vibrant colors thanks to a pavement painting competition. Children's and youth teams created large-scale canvases that intertwined traditional motifs, symbols of peace, and friendship between Belarus and Russia.

The day culminated with a grand festive concert dedicated to the friendship and unity of fraternal peoples: "The Unity of Belarus and Russia – There Is No Union More Beautiful in the World!" Performing groups from the Mozyr and Bryansk regions celebrated the shared roots, cultural heritage, and peaceful future of the two countries on stage. Immediately following the concert, a group photo shoot, "Faces of the Union," captured the sincere smiles of hundreds of festival participants. Later in the evening, guests will gather around the traditional "Slavic" bonfire. The eventful day will conclude with an emotional and vibrant song battle, "We Are Together!"

This celebration once again proved that the union of the two countries is strong not only through official agreements, but above all through the living connection and friendship between people. Participants will take home not only improved health but also a wealth of warm memories of an unforgettable summer.
