Improving children's health in educational and health camps in the Mogilev region

29-Jun-2026

During the first summer term of 2026, 28,539 children spent their holidays in educational and health camps in the Mogilev region.

A total of 67 24-hour health camps were open, lasting 15, 12, and 9 days, as well as 467 day camps.

At the end of the first term, 916 children from privileged categories received health benefits, including 329 children with disabilities and 449 orphans.

During June, 5,183 students from sports facilities in the region combined camp vacations with training.

The average cost of a trip to a stationary educational and health camp was 660.0 rubles, to a stationary sports and health camp - 718.00 rubles, to a day camp - 139.00 rubles, and to a sports and health camp - 148.00 rubles.

The occupancy rate of stationary suburban educational and health camps during the first shift was 97.4 percent of their available capacity.

During the summer of 2026, the region traditionally organized camps in various fields and areas of activity, including work and recreation camps. In 116 such camps, 1,468 schoolchildren combined productive work and rest. The children worked in the fields of agricultural production cooperatives, workshops of state educational institutions, on production sites and forest lands of state forestry institutions, and were engaged in landscaping.

Military-patriotic educational and health camps occupy a special place in the organization of specialized camps. Camps based at military units, departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations are particularly popular. Such camps are organized in all regions. During one shift, 2,113 people benefited from health improvement in 46 such camps.

Campers at these health camps actively participate in events as part of the national campaign "Summer is Us! Summer is for the Country!"

Particular attention is paid to events aimed at patriotic education: the educational quiz "Belarus – the Country of Blue Azeris," the creative competition "Voices of the Native Land," the drawing competition "Strong. Kind. Own," dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, and others.

Themed events were held to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the heroic defense of Mogilev and the 84th anniversary of the Borki tragedy. The "STEP" information and educational project continued during the summer.

The camps' main goals are to improve children's health; develop healthy lifestyle skills; foster social norms and values; meet children's individual needs for intellectual, moral, and physical development; and develop students' creative abilities.

Children's recreation at the health camps is varied and engaging.
