The grand opening of the first summer session took place on July 5 at the Teremok health camp, located in the Volozhin district of the Minsk region.

In the summer season, children were taken to 30 country camps in Minsk for recreation and recreation. The Teremok health camp was the last to open its first summer session. This year it changed its owner and became part of the Minsk City Educational and Health Center “Leader”. In a solemn atmosphere, young pupils kicked off a fun summer at Teremka.

The camp was renovated for the opening.

– We carried out cosmetic renovations of all buildings and rooms, updated the veranda. Designers worked on the design of the camp buildings. Among the highlights: a luminous ceiling appeared, and the facades were decorated with bright original banners made based on children’s drawings, said the head of Teremok, Evgenia Syritsa. – We asked the guys who had vacationed here before and would like to spend the summer in the camp again, what they were missing. Thanks to their suggestions, we have a new gaming room: it has large TVs, a game console, and relaxation areas with soft chairs and ottomans.

This summer Teremok will operate in three shifts. In total, it is planned to improve the health of about 400 children from 6 to 15 years old. In the future, the camp may become year-round.

The ceremonial line in honor of the opening of the shift was attended by Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Strigelsky, Chairman of the Minsk City Council of Deputies Artyom Tsuran, Head of the Minsk City Administration of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population Valery Nafranovich.

After the event, a round table was held dedicated to the health campaign and the functioning of children's camps with the participation of deputies of the Minsk City Council of Deputies.

– Over the summer we plan to improve the health of about 78 thousand children in camps of all types – both day-time and round-the-clock stays. During this season their workload is 100%. Already in February-March, almost all places in country health camps were booked, noted Valery Nafranovich, head of the Minsk city department of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population. – In the first summer month alone, more than 39 thousand young Minsk residents rested in country camps, as well as in day camps organized on the bases of educational institutions. The shifts went smoothly, without any emergency incidents. In order to promptly respond to the operational situation, employees of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Minsk City Executive Committee, consisting of five mobile groups, ensure the protection of public order and the safe stay of children in health camps located in the Minsk region.

The Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee recommends that enterprise-owners of health institutions that are on their balance sheet organize video surveillance. And some camps are already equipped with video cameras around the entire perimeter.

– The health campaign is going well. The assessment of the sanitary service is as follows: no significant violations were identified in the work of the camps. The most important thing is that the safety of children is ensured,” emphasized A. Strigelsky. – We improve our educational programs every year. They should be interesting to children, and rest should be useful, including from an educational point of view. The number of specialized camps has increased, including military-patriotic camps. A good staff of educators has been selected.

According to Andrei Strigelsky, health camps are becoming increasingly popular. They are extremely in demand.

– Today we are satisfying the request for children’s summer holidays. In some camps, there is even a queue to purchase vouchers for the desired shift. This indicates the high quality of health services,” emphasized A. Strigelsky.

– Every year we increase funding for the maintenance of camps. Funds are directed, first of all, to improve the material and technical base. Substantial financial assistance is also provided by enterprises that own country health centers. An important area is support for the population: funds are allocated to reduce the cost of travel packages. And both state funds and local budget funds are allocated for these purposes. This year we have expanded the list of recipients of these funds. We are talking about employees of budgetary institutions not only of municipal ownership, but also of state ownership,” said Artem Tsuran.
