Results of work on health improvement and spa treatment of the population in the Vitebsk region for 2025

On February 13, 2026, the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation for the Disabled and Veterans of Combat Operations in Other Countries summarized the results of health and spa treatment in 2025 and outlined plans for 2026.

The meeting was attended by Henadzi Balbatouski, Director of the Republican Center for Health and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population; Vyacheslav Durnov, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; and Snezhana Titova, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.

- 2025 was a fairly successful year for the health and spa treatment system in Belarus as a whole, and the Vitebsk Region is no exception: we are seeing positive dynamics across all performance indicators in the region. This includes revenue from sales and exports of medical and health services. Traditionally, the Vitebsk Region ranks among the top three regions in these indicators, noted Henadzi Balbatouski.

In her report, A. Chornaya, head of the representative office, noted that in 2025, more than 112,000 people received spa treatment and health improvement services at Vitebsk Region facilities. Revenue from service sales amounted to 163.3 million rubles, exceeding the previous year's figures by almost 17%. Revenue from additional paid services not included in the price of the voucher increased by 23.9% to 22.3 million rubles. Revenue from additional paid medical services increased by 29% to 12.9 million rubles. The number of foreign citizens receiving spa and health resort services increased by 6.1% to 36,500, with revenue from the export of services provided to these individuals totaling 75.6 million rubles.

In 2025, the Vitebsk office sold over 14,000 vouchers, purchased using funds from the republican budget and the extra-budgetary Social Protection Fund, totaling approximately 15.9 million rubles.

Particular attention is paid to organizing spa and health resort treatment and rehabilitation for children. In 2025, 5,057 minors received free spa and health resort treatment, including 1,518 children who received treatment together with their parents.

In the Vitebsk region, over 69,000 children received treatment in various types of camps in 2025. During the summer, 724 camps operated in the region, including 36 full-time camps, 20 fixed tent camps, 29 mobile tent camps, and 639 day camps. A total of over 43,000 children received health treatment during the summer. Five country sports and recreation camps also operate in the Vitebsk region, where 1,466 athletes received health treatment without interrupting their training in 2025.

Based on the results of 2025, N. Bogovich, a leading specialist in the Sharkovshchina district, was awarded the Honorary Certificate of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population.

Work on spa treatment and health improvement for the population of the Vitebsk region will continue.

Following the meeting, participants were given a tour of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Center for Medical Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons and Veterans of Military Operations in Other Countries, during which Chief Physician Vladislav Muzhichenko gave a tour of the center's rehabilitation facilities.
