Summer health improvement for children of the Vitebsk region

15-Jun-2026

For schoolchildren, summer is a time of active recreation, new friendships, and vibrant experiences. The Vitebsk Region annually implements a large-scale summer health program for children: thousands of children attend educational and health camps that combine recreation, sports, creativity, and educational activities.

The regional meeting on the 2026 summer health campaign was attended by Alexey Guida, Deputy Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee; Alesia Chornaya, Head of the Vitebsk Regional Office of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population; deputy chairmen of the regional city and district executive committees responsible for social affairs; health camp owners; and representatives of law enforcement agencies, security agencies, healthcare, and sanitary inspection services. In the summer of 2026, 47,700 children are scheduled to receive health care in the Vitebsk Region, including 16,900 in full-time camps, 1,800 in tent camps, and 29,000 in day camps. The state has allocated over 9.0 million rubles for the subsidy.

Over 1,400 10th-grade boys are undergoing field training for the first time this year, in the form of 24-hour stays in military-patriotic tent camps. Future defenders of the Fatherland study general military regulations and undergo tactical, drill, and firearms training. Additionally, the children are offered career guidance meetings, sports and military-patriotic events, and screenings of documentaries and feature films on military-patriotic topics.

The cost of camp vouchers is reduced by funds from the republican budget. The amount of this reduction is indexed annually.

This summer, the average cost of a 24-hour camp trip in the Vitebsk Region will be approximately 780 rubles, with a budget-funded reduction of 302 rubles.

A day camp trip will cost approximately 175 rubles, with a budget-funded reduction of 127 rubles.

A total of 38 country camps operate in the Vitebsk Region during the summer.

Summer recreation in the Vitebsk Region is more than just a vacation; it's an important stage in the education and development of the younger generation. During their time at camp, children improve their health, learn independence, friendship, and mutual support, acquire new skills, and recharge with positive energy for the new school year.

Each year, camp programs become more diverse, infrastructure becomes more modern, and approaches to organizing recreation become more flexible and focused on the interests of children. This allows the region to maintain high standards of children's health and create truly unforgettable summer holidays for schoolchildren.
