The summer health campaign has begun in the capital
16-Jun-2026Day camps opened in Minsk schools, gymnasiums, and supplementary education institutions for children and youth on June 1st. Military-patriotic camps, organized at permanent camps and military units, welcomed over 850 10th-grade students on May 26th for recreation and field training.
Thirty-two suburban recreation camps in the capital have also opened. Over 8,000 children have already arrived and are currently camping during the first shift.
The summer recreation campaign in Minsk was launched at the Energetik educational and recreational camp on June 5th, 2026, with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Andrei Strigelsky.

"We have strived to reach as many children as possible with all possible forms of recreation. Around 80,000 children will undergo recreation in various camps." More than half of them are in country camps. I would like to thank the management of the companies and organizations that own our camps, who have done so much to ensure the facilities are ready to receive the children. They have created conditions that make the children feel safe and comfortable. It is crucial that the military-patriotic camps we organize in military units are becoming increasingly popular. This year, around 6,000 children will be able to spend time productively in such camps," noted Andrei Strigelsky.
Tented tourist camps remain very popular with children. Also, around 3,000 children will combine their vacation at a health camp with work, in work and recreation camps. This is a great opportunity for the children to relax and earn money.
According to Valery Nafranovich, head of the Minsk City Office of the Republican Center for Health Improvement and Sanatorium-Resort Treatment of the Population, almost all camps will operate in five shifts of 15 days each, which will allow the greatest possible number of children to participate in the camp.

– During the summer, it is planned to provide free health care, funded by the republican and Minsk city budgets, to
1,303 orphans and children under guardianship, and
1,683 children with disabilities, a 33% increase over the 2025 target.
Furthermore, this season, 120 children with diabetes and cardiac conditions will be sent, along with their accompanying parents, to the Solnyshko Children's Sanatorium. Both the voucher and the accompanying parents will be fully covered by the city budget.
This year, camp owners plan to allocate over 13 million rubles to strengthen the camps' facilities. By decision of the Minsk City Executive Committee, funds allocated from the city budget for assistance in preparing permanent educational and health camps (2.5 million rubles) have been distributed among district administrations.
All suburban health camps have been accepted by the health camp acceptance committees of the Minsk district administrations and have begun operations according to the approved schedule, noted Valery Nafranovich.
The first session of the Energetik educational and health camp began on June 4th. 240 children are enjoying the beginning of their summer vacation here. They have an extensive educational and cultural program, as well as five meals a day.
"The camp has excellent facilities: comfortable buildings, an indoor sports complex, a workout area, a dance floor, a swimming pool, rooms for club activities, and a library. The camp is structured so that the children have virtually no free time; they are always busy. The teachers strive to keep the children engaged. We have student teaching teams working during each session. Students from BSPU, BSTU, BSAM, and BSUPC are involved," explained camp director Tatyana Kunitsa.

Immediately after the shift opened, the teams went off to compete in a quest. They were entertained by life-size puppets, workshops, a photo zone, and a face painting booth.

“This is my first time at this camp. I attended a sports competition here. I loved it, and my parents bought me a trip. I’ve already made friends with everyone in the team. Many come here year after year. The food is delicious, and there are always interesting events: quests and games during the day, and discos in the evenings,” shared Ivan Podlessky, a camper at Energetik.
