Results of the summer health campaign of 2026 in the Brest region
12-October-2026Following the 2026 summer health and recreation campaign, 766 educational and health-oriented camps (hereinafter referred to as "camps") were opened in the region; of these, 667 were day camps and 99 were residential (overnight) camps. Against a target of 63.7 thousand children, 64.2 thousand children from the Brest region attended camps of all types, representing 100.7% of the target and 102.3% of the number of children who participated in such programs the previous year. Approximately 12 million rubles from the national budget were spent to subsidize the cost of camp stays.
The region operated 23 seasonal stationary camps, providing health and recreation services to 17,317 children. Additionally, residential camps were organized at the "Svitanak" and "Kolos" Children's Rehabilitation and Health Centers, serving 1,482 children. Over the summer period, 1,210 children attended a residential camp at the Republican Educational and Health Center for the Patriotic Education of Children and Youth. Virtually all stationary camps operated across five sessions.

Throughout the summer campaign, relevant agencies monitored staffing levels and ensured compliance across all camp types with sanitary-epidemiological standards, fire safety regulations, safe building and facility operation, water safety protocols, and labor laws. Particular attention was paid to the health and well-being of socially vulnerable groups. During the summer period, health-improvement programs benefited 1,838 orphans, 920 children with disabilities, 1,727 children registered for preventive monitoring or living in socially dangerous conditions, and 12,357 children from large families.
As of October 1, 2026, preliminary data indicates that 874.2 thousand rubles from the local budget were utilized to subsidize camp stays for the children of public-sector employees, to cover the full cost of stays for socially vulnerable groups, and to purchase stays for children from boarding schools.
Preventive efforts continued regarding crimes and offenses related to the use of narcotic and toxic substances, synthetic cannabinoids ("spice"), and vapes; additionally, camps hosted activities aimed at preventing the use of smoking and smokeless tobacco products and electronic smoking devices.
Special emphasis was placed on events marking significant milestones in the history of the Republic of Belarus that hold particular historical and socio-political importance (such as the celebration of Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and events commemorating the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People).

Camps implemented the "Step to Success" information and education project, featuring motivational talks designed to foster civic and patriotic consciousness and legal awareness among young people, while highlighting national cultural achievements and modern-day Belarus. Prominent media figures and representatives from law enforcement, education, healthcare, sports, culture, science, public associations, and leading national enterprises were engaged in this initiative.

The practice of organizing camps in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, the State Border Committee, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus was continued. Specifically, 54 military-patriotic camps (sessions/detachments) were organized during the summer, providing health and recreation opportunities for 3,525 children.

As of September 1, 2026, a total of 5,208.4 thousand rubles had been spent on upgrading the facilities and infrastructure of 23 seasonal stationary camps. This funding comprised 2,963.2 thousand rubles from local budgets, 1,669.9 thousand rubles from camp owners, 145.5 thousand rubles from the national budget, and 429.8 thousand rubles in sponsorship contributions.
Information regarding the 2026 children's summer health and recreation campaign was regularly covered in the media.
Thanks to the joint interagency efforts of those involved in organizing these programs, minors enjoyed a summer of comprehensive health and recreation, well-rounded development, and unforgettable experiences that will stay with them until the following summer.
